Hello,
I'm working on optimizing an e-commerce multilingual website and I have a question on one of the most important issues. The site has the following URL structure:

 www.example.com/product.html?lang=en&currency=gbp

The other languages are fr, es, it.

What do you think is the best method to target those languages? 

1) Changing to a URL structure like: 

www.example.com/en/product.html and apply rel=”alternate” and hreflang like this:
   
<link rel="alternate" hreflang="x-default" href="http://www.example.com/product.html" />
<link rel="alternate" hreflang="en" href="http://www.example.com/en/product.html" />
<link rel="alternate" hreflang="fr" href="http://www.example.com/fr/productFR.html" />
<link rel="alternate" hreflang="de" href="http://www.example.com/de/productDE.html" />
<link rel="alternate" hreflang="es" href="http://www.example.com/es/productES.html" />
<link rel="alternate" hreflang="it" href="http://www.example.com/it/productIT.html" />

2) Setting subdomains for each language:

en.example.com/product.html and apply rel=”alternate” and hreflang like this:

3)Buying a ccTLD for each country with local hosting:

<link rel="alternate" hreflang="fr"    href="http://www.example.fr/productFR.html" />
