Pet food manufacturer Royal Canin has come under cyber attack. Because of this development their products will have a delay in availability and orders made through Vetsource and other suppliers will likely be canceled or not arrive as planned. If your pet's prescription diet is affected by this delay and you need guidance please don't hesitate to give your veterinary office a call. We will do our best to point you toward a source or alternative to keep your pet healthy and happy! #malware #pethealth

We're proud to announce Seattle Veterinary Associate's Licensed Veterinary Technician Linda Merrill has, once again, had her work in veterinary medicine published. Linda wrote a chapter on venous and arterial puncture for the Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine (that means she's really good at explaining the hows and whys of blood collection and placing intravenous catheters, among other things). We're so proud to have her as a long time member of our team and really appreciate all the knowledge and skills she shares with clients, staff, and even the veterinary community at large. The next time you see Linda (usually at Green Lake Animal Hospital) don't forget to congratulate her on her contribution to furthering veterinary care and the health of pets! #seattleveterinaryassociates #shesgotmadskillz #congratulations

We are closed today for our annual all-clinic meeting. We're taking the opportunity to learn some "fear free" skills to help us making your pets' visits to our clinics as stress-free a possible.

If you have an urgent concern you need help triaging, please give us a call at 206-524-6540. Our answering service will take your message and our on-call doctor will call you back.

We will return to our normal hours tomorrow (Monday, February 13th) and look forward to sharing our new skills with you and our patients! #fearfree #continuingeducation #tobetterserveyou

We think this looks more like a bouquet of kittens... but we weren't consulted about the names for groups of animals. #factoidfriday #kittens

Join us at Health Mutt, a gem of a pet store nestled in near the Roosevelt Square Whole Foods for pet photos with Santa! Suggested donation is $10 and every penny will be donated to the Doney Clinic, a clinic for low income families to bring their pets for medical care. Each donation will be matched by Seattle Veterinary Associates (that's us!) up to $1000. We hope to hit that mark! Each owner will go home with a printed photo and access to a digital image for their own use! We hope to see you there!

Kelty was born in 2003 and was quickly labeled an Eastern-Washington-Speckled-Cattle-Hound, the only one known in existence. She was adopted by Vicky, Green Lake's then Client Service Representative Extraordinaire who kept Kelty by her side at the front desk. Kelty really grew up at Green Lake Animal Hospital, coming to work with her mama every day, greeting friends (and everyone was a friend) with a cheerful yodel in the mornings. We know we are biased, but we're sure that Kelty had the best life a dog could possibly have because of this.

In early 2016 Kelty was diagnosed with cancer. She continued to have an amazingly active, fun life despite her diagnosis throughout the year. It was only in the last couple of days that it became clear that she wasn't feeling so good. It was decided to humanely euthanize her yesterday, November 7th, before her quality of life suffered too much. She passes surrounded by those who knew and loved her most, eating roast chicken-- and even a few brownies until the end.

Because Kelty was such a regular fixture at the hospital, she touched a lot of lives and is remembered fondly by all of us. Our hearts go out to Vicky who had to make the difficult decision to let her companion go after 13 wonderful years together. We hope knowing how much Kelty was loved and appreciated by those of us who knew her will help Vicky find some peace.
