Excellent space for freelancer & single person companies, great little community and the owner, Bleddyn is very eager to support members. I used Rentadesk's hot desk membership as desk space to get started with, Base Touch, the video marketing startup that I was joining. Location wise it is very easy to get to and being on the edge of Covent Garden & Soho and Bloomsbury its very close to where many of our client companies are. The desks are practically laid out, with good power sources and the internet connection was reliable. The free tea, coffee, sweets, even vegetables (!) all on offer meant that you weren't having to dive round the corner to the local coffee shops to get your caffeine (or celery) fix. My top tips would be for freelancers to use the internal classified ads that Bleddyn has set up, this will give him a better idea of what you do and help him connect you to other members. Also use the calendar system to book out the small quiet/meeting room in advance if you need it. If Base Touch was just a one man affair, then I would seriously consider staying at Rentadesk, but we already need space for more people. If you only need a space for yourself to work Rentadesk should be at the top of your list to visit.

I became a member of Central Working in 2013, as a way to help propel the digital marketing and development agency I was working for into the London market. As a tech company the address of the Shoreditch club, almost on top of Silicon Roundabout, added that extra bit of credence to the agency and allowed us to start talking with businesses previously out of reach. Although the outside of the Shoreditch club is nothing special, once inside the workspace is very conducive to business. The staff in the clubs always made me feel incredibly welcome and were fantastic at putting me in touch with both potential suppliers and some fantastic leads, including a FTSE 100 heavy hitter. Likewise the community spirit in the clubs was great and I got to talk with some really enthusiastic and interesting people. In that kind of environment, its impossible to not be enthusiastic yourself about what you are doing. To balance the review; the only bad experience I ever had, during the near year and a half of visiting once a week, was when my Lenovo laptop weirdly couldn’t connect to the wifi. Joanna and Leah bent over backwards to try and help, giving me access to various back ups and calling all their support people. Turned out that the Femto cell I was sitting next to at one end of the big desk was interacting with my wifi, moving two seats down sorted. Bear in mind if that ever happens. If you are looking for desk space in London, and more importantly a tech focused community in London to grow in, you should really check them out. If you become a member make sure you try and meet up Grant, Leah, Tania or James the founder - they'll become the most passionate allies your business can have.
