I have had the good luck in life to spill more than one beer on this day with men who sat on both sides of the beach waiting for all hell to break loose.  From Paratroops that fell in the darkness to a young German trooper who would spend the next 5 years being beat on by Brits.

70 years have come and gone. Slowly the faces of this day march out of living memory. It is up to each of us to remember why this day is significant.

Introduction
Grew up in San Diego
There's old-school & then there's Tommy's Joynt; I love this place. Big bar with a good beer selection, very reasonably priced cocktails & they have a couple of TVs for sports. Food is great and they give you big portions. They have carved meat of various kinds, a tasty turkey burrito & various pies for dessert. It's open late every night - come here when everywhere else is closed, particularly after hitting a late movie at the AMC theatre nearby.

Was driving by hungry & it's hard for me to pass up a "pancake house" in that situation. I enjoyed it. It's got a small town breakfast place look to it, a bit frozen in time perhaps. Menu is big, the food is tasty & it's reasonably priced. Particularly if you're a 'cakes man, I think you should give it a try.

I've only been for Taco Tuesday in the area of their restaurant they call "the garage". Their Taco Tuesday seems to have many fans, so it was crowded & tough to get a seat. The garage is a separate part of the restaurant & doesn't seem to take reservations - so you might have to have some patience (you do get free popcorn while you wait). I was by myself, so I was able to squeeze in at the "public table", a long table seating multiple parties. The garage door (literally) was open - which makes for a nice open air feel to it. They sold three kinds of "street tacos" - small but tasty, bottled beer &, I believe, sangria. I enjoyed it all & recommend their Taco Tuesday in the "garage".

Quaint little place in the Inner Richmond that's serving reasonably priced tasty BBQ food. It's counter-service with about 15 tables It's a great little every day eatery that, especially if you live in the Inner Richmond, you definitely need to try.

This was one of the first breakfast spots I went to in San Francisco & I'm still frequenting it. I'm a big fan of their pancakes - particularly their banana packages, raisin/walnut pancakes & blueberry pancakes. Big place so it's rare you have to wait. They leave you with a carafe of coffee & pitcher of water - I love that. Breakfast & lunch only.

Finally got to Gator Games & glad I did. I went for a demo of a new card game coming out being given by its creator - it's nice when game stores have events like that. They seem a tad cramped in their space but, on the other hand, it had a pleasant wall-to-wall games feel to it. I thought their inventory selection seemed good. Unless there's a room I missed, there's not much space for gaming, but there's plenty of parking (I live in San Francisco so worth mentioning). The staff was very friendly. One of the staff members participated in the demo, which was great. Another staff member was attentive when I spent a few minutes browsing.

I live in the neighborhood & eat here regularly. My favorite menu items are Al Pastor tacos, carnitas tacos, cheese quesadillas & carne asada nachos. I usually do take-out, but it's a comfortable little establishment to eat-in, as well.
