If you don't subscribe to Adult Wednesday Addams, you probably should.  The latest video deals with catcalling... and is nigh-epic.  Language is NSFW.

Why is it every time the cat burst through I hear him (in my head) saying, "OH YEAH!"?

Reshared by way of +Jeff Pettorino.

It is amazing what you get used to, and the transition time it takes to get used to them not being there, or that way anymore.

For example it can take a couple of weeks for sailors to adjust to the ground not moving under them when they walk.

not sure anything can be added to this.

This from redditor /u/Macfrogg:

"""
The term "network neutrality" has an very specific technical definition. It means that no packet is prioritized above any other packet at the router level. All packets are routed on a first-come, first-serve basis. It means you do not have QoS running.

That's it.

That's what "net neutrality" means.

No privileged routes; all routes in the routing table are treated equally by the scheduler. It does not mean "business fairness", it does not mean "light touch" or "heavy handed" regulation from the FCC, or any of these other political codewords and emotionally loaded phrases that make one side burst with glee, and make the other side think you are the Antichrist; it means one thing and one thing only.

When the IP packet arrives, if the QoS bit is set, it is toggled off and its priority field is ignored when it is added to the routing queue. That is it. That is all. Nothing more. Nothing less. No bullshit. No nonsense. No shrieking cries of horror from the side of the aisle you tend to vote with, no accusations of Cackling Maniacal Evil to the side of the aisle you tend to vote against; just a single, simple, technical definition.

When they {politicians} take a technical term and deliberately misinterpret it to muddy the water for political gain, I am overcome by so much rage, it feels like I'm going to start bleeding from the eyes.
"""
Is President Barack Obama taking over the Internet? Not by a long stretch, but that’s not stopping political banter in the “net neutrality” debate.

For the parents of digital native children out there. +neil smalley+Jim Sparks+Ian Sparks

YouTube Kids is far from perfect (yet), but any parent with little ones should give it a serious look.
Being a tech-forward parent presents its own unique set of challenges, and letting your kids use YouTube is one of the best examples of this. I have trouble believing that YouTube is safe for adults most days, which is why I'm often hovering over my children to ensure whatever they are watching on Google's video service is safe. It's not even that YouTube is bad for children — the...

The lady had spoken. The beard had to be wrangled. It turned out shorter than I'd like, but my partner is happy, and that's what counts.

My daughter on the other hand complains that I look naked. She is not a fan.

Indeed, to both comments. The plus side is that it is a lot easier to maintain shorter like this

Got to watch my niece go snowboarding for the first time. That was better than skiing with my brothers for the first time

Didn't go skiing today, but did get a fair bit of exercise. Hiked down to Emerald Bay, then up to Eagle Falls. Lived in Tahoe for years, never saw the falls up close before

The snow is around 7000 feet. The snow conditions for the past couple of days were pretty good, in spite of the lack of snow pack

My beard took me skiing today. Well worth the effort in spite of the weather, which my beard was able to successfully ignore

Not Sean Paul the singer
Introduction
Not the singer, seriously

I work in the Computer Security industry, love Star Wars *and* (gasp) Star Trek, play computer and video games and am pretty much an all around geek/nerd (depending on your own definition).

So if you're here reading my posts looking for someone artsy, poetic or graceful with a microphone, let me assure you that I could not carry a tune in a bucket (honest, I fail out on most songs on Rock Band in the Easy mode while singing).  If you're not here for those things, welcome to the fold.
Bragging rights
I have more Lego sets in the office than anyone else.
