Google does use site wide signals for ranking new pages says +John Mueller of Google.  H/T +Glenn Gabe

Screenshots: New matching process in GMB pre verification

I just want to share two screenshots I've taken going through the new matching option. This option is offered, if Google spots similar existing listings in Google Maps to the one you're attempting to add to the database via bulk upload. I initally posted about it here: https://plus.google.com/+NicolaiHelling/posts/G7z4fjNaCmq

You then click on "Confirm location" at the end of a listing (screenshot #1) and you'll be taken to a dialog page showing similar listings at the given adress (screenshot #2). You can then either choose to click on "Use this location" or "Add location", if the offered listings are different to your location. Clicking "Use this location" you are then taken to the GMB detail page of your location in list view. I assume your data then will update the exiting data after the GMB account has been fully approved by Google.

However, it is not always offered, although there are pre-existing listings for a location. Maybe this will get better over time.

Nice and helpful tool though :)

A newly granted Google patent describes how local search results might be boosted in search rankings, and how some local results may rank well based upon location independent factors and may be demoted in search rankings because of those location independent rankings.
A Google Patent describes how it might demote local sites ranking highly in search results because of location independent factors.

Join Rand for today's Whiteboard Friday - he'll show how to use your knowledge of related topics and semantic connections in your on-page SEO processes.
Back in February, we explored balancing keyword targeting with concept targeting. This time around we're looking at using your knowledge of related topics and semantic connections in your on-page SEO processes. In today's Whiteboard Friday, Rand talks about applying those ideas in ways that will boost your ranking potential and inform your keyword research.

Neat place. A little small but overall a good place to stay. Best thing is it's close to the river and there's a pretty spot where you can tie up and float.

Very attentive and knowledgeable staff. Oscar helped my wife and I transfer multiple lines and phones from another provider to Verizon which was complicated and time consuming.

Parking was easy and minimal lines. Rainforest was great. The seals at the Aquarium were cool to watch during feeding time.

Prices are quite reasonable for the service provided. For a large truck it took around 30 minutes. They also did a good job buffing a scratch out of my door.

Lots of great outlet stores to choose from. Food court is cool because it has fun activities for the kids. AMC Theater and Books A Million also there.
