I'll be sharing this, too!
It truly is amazing how close this one hit to home. "Audition machine" summed up exactly how I felt with those sites. I wasn't a professional VO talent as much as I was a Professional Auditioner©®™

If I was going to have a voice over of anything,  +Sean O. Shea would be my first choice for a paid gig.

Where's the tea in Connec-ti-cut? Doesn't anyone drink American beer at your your "business" meetings?
My gawd! Indian Pale Ale from Penryn, England?   Mary, Mary...have you seen this abomination? What have the Irish come to?
And what the hell is the salt shaker about? Did someone runoff with the Tequila?

I recently discovered the value of Podcasts. One from John Melley just opened my eyes to the feature rich application, Evernote.

Oh, sorry that I forgot to send you some info on Evernote. Now I'll have to find it for you. Something about fully utilizing the power of Evernote.
It may fit in with this podcast (or even be the same info)

Although it's been over a week since attending my 1st VO conference, my head is still buzzing with fresh knowledge and ideas. Not sure why I'd read such poor opinions of conferences. Did I luck out? I thought VOAtlanta2014 was well executed, with great speakers and a laid back kind of vibe. Speakers were there all weekend and even sat in the audience on other sessions. I made some new friends, some new contacts and renewed my love of this business.

Without having provided a proper "agreement" and speaking out about the double word count, I would have just chalked it up to a lesson learned.

Fool me once.....
How would you handle this dilemma?  A student of mine was a bit stuck the other day. She had just completed a voice over job and for all intents and purposes it had been signed off. Then a few days later, the client asked ...

It's so hard getting the information into my brain, now I gotta get it out??

I just got the Hello app and have been learning how to use it. Are they getting rid of it? This article left out the time wasted that was spent learning the ins and outs of how to get the most out of Hello.

Pillsbury Doughboy Dead At 81

The Pillsbury Doughboy died Monday of a severe yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes to the belly. He was 81.
Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin.
Dozens of celebrities turned out, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, Betty Crocker, The Hostess Twinkies, and Cap’n Crunch. The California Rasins Choir sang The Loafs's Prayer.
The grave site was piled high with flours as longtime friend Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy, describing Doughboy as a man who, "never knew how much he was kneaded".
Doughboy rose quickly in show business but his later life was filled with many turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes.
Despite his being a little flaky at times, and even crusty as an old man, he was considered a roll model for millions.
Toward the end it was thought he'd rise once again, but he was no tart.
His second wife, Play Dough, survives Doughboy. They have two children and one in the oven. Mrs. Dough said of their 60 year relationship, "It was a piece of cake."
The funeral was held at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. May he rest in yeast, I mean peace.

Maybe it's just me, but...

I've had issues with Skype ever since Microsoft took it over. More dropped calls, bad video and audio. Those issues almost made me drop it, altogether. It's gotten better lately, but I hope that their Skype TX has been tweaked and tested to offer a more stable performance. Fingers crossed. ;)
Today, Microsoft's unveiling Skype TX, a new version of its VoIP service geared toward broadcasters. The service uses technology developed by Cat and

Must be excited about it as well. You can see the sparkle in her eyes.
Strange really because female dogs aren't usually good at math.
[Are you taking this all in, Mary????]

Voice Over Talent with an In-Home Studio - Specializing in Corporate Narrations, eLearning and Tutorials
Introduction

During a 5 year stretch in radio, as an announcer, I was introduced to the fun and creative world of voice overs. I started recording in-house commercials for our local clients, such as night clubs, car dealerships, supermarkets and tattoo parlors.(what kind of a Rock station would we be if we didn't have a tattoo parlor running commercials)

Those radio days may be long gone, but I have never stopped lending my voice to whatever projects I could find on my own. For 15 years I have been helping businesses reach their target audience by providing quality voice overs for their corporate narration, eLearning and tutorial projects. I have recorded commercials for TV and Radio using every style voice in my arsenal from announcer to warm and friendly. A voice with character. Not to mention, I'm a character with a bunch of voices.
