Kids need to take responsibility for themselves, not rely on their parents forever! Maybe that sounds old fashioned, but by most definitions I AM an early millennial. I have a great relationship with my parents and they've supported me through my entire career. I wouldn't be where I am without them. But part of that was knowing when to step back and let me try on my own - even if it meant failing. My wife is a high-school teacher and this interventionist approach is, in my opinion, far too common for the students' good. Scary if the workplace is headed this direction, too.
