When I first heard of this idea I thought it was a boondoggle in waiting. As the idea has evolved, with private money and green technology, I am becoming a believer. The system could uniquely and efficiently move people across the river while providing a catalyst for redevelopment of the Rossdale Power Plant. I think the Power Plant could be converted into a market like Granville Island in Vancouver with the surrounding grounds turned into a park.

Harvesting CO2 from the atmosphere and using it as feedstock for the production of commercially viable materials could be an important new industry for Alberta. Plants could reduce the amount of carbon in the atmosphere and get paid handsomely for the final product.

Exciting new research into production of propylene using CO2 and propane. Alberta has lots of both and there is a shortage of propylene. This sounds like this is an excellent avenue of research for our universities and petro-industries.
