Sit-Rep for Operation: Electric Fire
So last week on Monday and I joked about fielding Austin, again. Tuesday I asked him about it again and we agreed that we should do it. I started looking at Intel found some clear lanes around Austin. I made the plan, Mason pitched it to the community and pulled it all together.
Wednesday night, took me to farm the keys in Luling and Lockhart. We set the portals up and hoped that they would stay up for the next 24 hours.
Thursday afternoon Nicole started assigning blockers. We had everyone in their places and blockers dropped precisely when we wanted them to and we were able to successfully field Austin for the 10 p.m. Checkpoint on Thursday evening. Unfortunately due to some issues we were not able to get all 22 layers up for checkpoint. We did however, get 7 up in time. Fields averaged between 650k and 710k MU per layer.
First, I want to give a HUGE shout out to all of our blocker busters, without you, we would not have been able to make this happen.
Secondly I want to recognize out fielders. and joined me at our Burnet anchor where we distributed the keys, and were at the Buckholts anchor. 7 layers made checkpoint, but due to cell service issues we were not able to get all 22 up in time. We got 2 Onyx Illuminator badges and
And last but not least, I want to thank for organizing everything. I could not have asked for a better operator for our Austin fields. She was spectacular.

Sit-Rep for Operation: Bananas
A few months ago, my good friend asked me to help him get his Onyx Illuminator. I agreed to help him because as many of you know, fielding is my absolute favorite part of this game. I started to come up with a plan, looking for good lanes and slow response time anchors, and decided on two portals that I was already familiar with: a remote portal on Matagorda Island and another in a historic cemetery south of Brackettville, Texas.
My plan was beginning to take shape.
I had met at a farm in the Hill Country a few months ago and invited him and to have an opportunity to throw some layers knowing how hard it is to get an Onyx Illuminator by fielding “Moo” units. The Professor graciously made the trip to the Seminole Indian Scouts Cemetery to farm keys for that anchor, and I both made the trips to Sunday Beach Cross (SBC) to farm keys.
I have had the privilege of fielding with many other agents in Central Texas who have all been instrumental in previous Ops, and I wanted to recognize their hard work by allowing them the opportunity to join the throw team as well. The plan was to throw a few layers from each anchor and to have an elongated spine running through Jarrell and Salado to maximize the number of layers.
As and I were boarding a chartered boat to take us to the SBC anchor we found out that there were two Resistance Agents, @indubitablytim and @jibsailjohn already onsite. After scoping out the situation, and having all blockers accounted for, we decided to give it a shot and see if we could get a field up and hold it until checkpoint.
Like clockwork, all the blockers across central and southern Texas all fell within seconds of one another, clearing the lanes and giving us green light to give it a shot. We managed to get the 1st layer up before the agents on site realized what had happened and although we attempted to hold the portal, SBC went down. We fought to keep the portal up and fully deployed but in the end we were unable to hold it.
The Op was originally called, but then after the Resistance agents left the island we decided to go ahead and give it another shot. We managed to get most of the agents back in position, although some changes had to be made on the fly to the throw order due to keys which had been consumed in the previous attempt In the end we were able to get 30 layers up with a total of 68,908,613 mind units captured. In this field, we got 5 Onyx Illuminator badges and many people got fielding experience, it was a learning experience for many of us.
Congratulations to the throw team consisting of myself and at the SBC anchor, and at the Seminole Indian Scouts Cemetery, and working the spine in Jarrell and in Salado. Unfortunately, due to the changes which had to be made on the ground not everyone was able to get their layers thrown though.
A big thank you to the blocker busters out there who were able to take everything down seamlessly, some driving hours to do so, and some being called off at the last minute. and @CatfishClark, all helped with blockers, with additional assistance from and helping with counter-blockers and/or contacts beforehand.
Also a big thank you to the Austin ENL Community for all of your support!
Lastly, we were blessed to have some great operators providing us with their eyes on the field of battle, directing and coordinating our efforts. A huge shout out to and for their efforts!
