Seattle With Stars. Ever wonder what cities would look like at night if the lights didn't overpower the stars? In my imagination this is what we might see. The city image was taken during the Seattle by Night workshopand I hosted last weekend. The starry sky image was taken a couple of weeks ago in the mountains away from city light pollution. There are many ways to express an idealized reality through photography, for example with choices in the way we compose a scene, make focal length or shutter speed selections and even particular moments of light or weather that we seek out. Sometimes my idealized vision can be captured in a single exposure, but other times a little more work is involved to be able to create what I imagine.
