Another HDR from my NYC PhotoPlus Expo  Tamron lecturing trip. I almost walked all the way back to my hotel at 11pm after a nice dinner (from Lower Manhattan to Hell's Kitchen). Then it began to rain, so I grabbed my Nikon D800E and a two lenses (my Tamron Lenses 28-300mm and a 12-24mm), caught a cab to Times Square and shot from midnight to 2am on Halloween nigh, playing with color, movement, and advertising sensory overload. Met folks from around the world, the streets were still busy, and the city still alive.

I recently received this card from a model I photographed on a commercial job.

It reads "Life's a bowl of cherries", and inside it says "because of nice people like you."

I did him a small favor after our shoot because I felt it was right. The fact that he went out of his way to send a card shows the kind of person he is as well.

This is what the world should be about. Work hard, care for your crew and it will come back around.

To me, B&W isn't a 5-day challenge to get you to try or test yourself in the medium. I rather use my photographic knowledge to build an amazing collection of B&W images using all that I know about tonal values, contrast, lighting, and composition - not to fill 5 days on social media, yet instead when I see a B&W scene that just can't be passed up. Seeing in B&W is an artistic way of life, not some temporary social challenge. Plus, no one nominated me so I'm bitter and angry, and feel worthless and degraded.  :)   #blackandwhite

A brief article/interview with yours truly covering the new Tamron Lenses super-zoom 16-300mm in Popular Photography (truly lovin' their new lenses- producing some great images with 'em!). The photos are a bit small, but enjoy the piece! http://www.popphoto.com/2014/09/tamron-s-amazing-new-16-300mm-di-ii-vc-pzd-macro-worlds-first-188x-wide-to-super-tele-zoom-h   #tamron   #superzoom   #popularphotography   #seanarbabi   #greatlenses

I agree- and I'm loving my 150-600mm, 28-300mm, and 70-200mm for my full frame DSLR- they are all sharp, well made, solid, lightweight, fast, and best of all, affordable- how could you ask for more?

Back at my hotel at 11pm after a nice dinner (nearly walking all the way back from Lower Manhattan to Midtown). Then it began to rain. So I grabbed my gear and caught a cab to Times Square to catch some of the color reflecting in the streets on Halloween night. This was a three-shot HDR panorama at around 2am, playing with color, movement, and sensory overload. Met folks from around the world, the streets were still fairly busy, the city still alive.
