Doomacfelim Castle which can be seen from Sea View House was an O’Brein stronghold and dates to about the year 1500 or 1550.

In 1580 it belonged to Teige MacMurrough O’Brien who at this time also owned Ballynalakin castle about 2 miles away.  During the 1641 rebellion it was owned by Donogh O’Brein. He retained ownership after the rebellion.

The castle is a prominent landmark in Doolin Village.

Great video clip of local farmer and tour guide Pat Sweeney talking about the Cliffs of Moher and the walking trail he created.

Sea View House is positioned right in the middle of Doolin - very close to O'Connor's. This B&B was fabulous! Darra was so helpful and friendly -- even helping us with a booking for a B&B in another town later in the week. The sitting room with the blazing fire was a cozy place to read, play guitar and talk with other guests. Breakfast was great. The room was spacious, very quiet and comfirtable and the hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay there again.
