I'm so glad to see someone bringing this up. Star Wars is amazing, but too many blindly devoted fans simply think because its Star Wars its going to break every record out there, and that is most likely not the case for all the reasons this article says. Plus even if this film is brilliant, it is still coming off of the negative response that the prequels got. No matter what the franchise is a film coming out after a perceived stinker ALWAYS does less business. Its time tested. Now if Force Awakens is great, I totally see Episode 8 doing even bigger business. To those in doubt: merely think about Episode I, which came after "the greatest trilogy of all time" and it still did not beat Titanic when everything was said and done. The Force Awakens will benefit from the slow burn success of the winter going into terrible movie months like January and February, but 300mil, on a weekend, during the heart of the winter? I seriously doubt it.
