Governor Jay Inslee did an AMA on reddit yesterday. One person asked him about the proposed 95% tax on vaping products in the state. His answer was full on bull shit and got called out pretty quickly by other redditors. Specifically, his excuse for the tax was to "help save the children from getting the products"... check it out.

/"We’ve chosen to focus on children’s health to prevent an industry in succeeding in getting people to become addicted to nicotine. From your question, it sounds like you understand the dangers of nicotine addiction. We have to face the reality that there’s a large industry dedicated to increasing nicotine addiction of our children. In order to reduce prospects of children getting addicted to nicotine there are multiple tools like licensing of vendors and restricting childhood advertising. But the single most effective tool to prevent children from becoming addicted is the cost of the product."/

Anytime someone wants to get something passed they involve children.  Because, who could hate children?

Reminds me of CISPA and how they tacked on the bit about protecting children in hopes to get the bill passed.

I booked specifically with Red Lion as I know them to be a nicer hotel chain, and I was looking for some comfort after a long day of travel. The pros: The bed was amazingly comfortable. The television was nice, linens smelled good, and the room itself was clean. Front desk staff was polite although I had limited interaction with them. Hotel is very close to the airport. The cons: The room was itty bitty. Teeny tiny. In order to shut the bathroom door, I almost had to climb into the bathtub. The shower head didn't have the trim piece around the pipe that goes to the wall... so, you could see through the tile to the dark abyss beyond. There is very little room to move around the bed/chair/desk. It's right next to the airport, so expect to listen to planes all night long. There is no breakfast included with your room, and at this price point it's practically expected. Will I stay there again? Likely not. You're going to pay a premium price to be right next to the airport. However, take the time to drive a mile down the road. There are hotels that offer more facilities at a better price.

I went to Salon 6 in Spanaway, WA in hopes to get my terrible head of hair under control. I had recently shaved my head (with a razor) and was letting it grow out. Unfortunately, it was all growing out at the same length, so I looked like a giant Q-Tip. I had seen a barber when my whole head was about 5/8" long to have him clean it up... man, what a mistake. So, I let it grow out for a few more weeks and then went to see David at Salon 6. What a great decision this was. He fit me into his schedule within minutes of my placing my call to him. When I arrived, David took one look at my head and said, "Don't worry... I'll fix it." After an amazing experience that included a scalp massage, wash/condition, warm towel on the face, and the best hair cut I've ever had... I was extremely happy. David certainly knows what he is doing, and has years of experience under his belt... and is a graduate of Gene Juarez to boot. I tend to go to barber shops, as I'm a masculine kind of dude... I've avoided salons and such as that usually isn't my speed. But Salon 6 definitely put that old stereotype to rest. The salon is decorated with comfortable leather couches, warm wood, and flat screen televisions with sports/news on them... The environment is extremely masculine, clean, friendly, and upscale. I hear that this location may soon be serving beer with your cut, as the 6th Ave Tacoma salon already does (how friggin awesome is that???). My perfect experience was very easy on the pocketbook as well... $40 after tip. This is my go-to hair care place now. I get an amazing cut, by a top stylist, a relaxing experience, all in a masculine environment by friendly and helpful people. Take my advice, treat yourself and let David or one of the other stylists at Salon 6 take very good care of you.

Visited here on a company trip with about 40 others. They accommodated us easily, providing excellent service, food, and entertainment. The servers were very friendly and attentive. This is my first trip to Chicago, but when I'm here again... I'll be visiting Pinstripes. Thanks for the great experience!!

I had the pleasure of staying at The Stanford Court Renaissance San Francisco Hotel while I was in San Francisco for Google IO 2012. Where do I begin? We stayed for four nights here, and every minute that we were at the hotel was an absolute pleasure. The staff of The Stanford Court Renaissance San Francisco Hotel know EXACTLY how to treat a guest. Housekeeping was fantastic. Often, the staff would ask to come in around 11AM... while we were working in our room. They didn't want to interrupt us, so came back when we felt it was convenient. Beds were made, fresh towels if we asked for them, and the place was kept very tidy during our visit. The housekeeping staff were all friendly and would smile as they passed you in the hall. Front desk was amazing as well. Anything we needed, they were happy to provide. Extra pillows? No worries... needed some ice but the machine was on the ground floor? No problem either, they sent some right up. The front desk staff always made us feel welcome and truly as a guest in their hotel. Consigliere at The Stanford Court Renaissance San Francisco Hotel were always accommodating. If we needed a cab, they were sure to have one waiting for us by the time we reached the lobby from our room. Also, any sights or tips that we had about the city were always answered with the very best options available. Great place for dinner? Local cafe within walking distance? They had all of the answers. What a phenomenally generous and professional team they were! Then there was my favorite part of my stay at this hotel: the restaurant/lounge staff. When we were feeling a bit cramped in our room (there was four of us), we'd migrate to the dining room... which we had full run of for any of our needs. Free wireless internet, multiple seating/meeting places (including some that were more secluded than others for quite chatting), and without a doubt, the excellent and accommodating staff. Particularly I'd like to thank Ramon for always being available no matter what we needed. More coffee? Water? Drinks? This man was the EPITOME of good service. Were I ever in a position to head up any kind of customer service operation, I would want him involved... without a doubt. He remembered our names during our stay, and even knew how we took our coffee. Ramon was the cherry on top of our stay at The Stanford Court Renaissance San Francisco Hotel. Please, if anyone from this business ever reads this... express my appreciation to him for his outstanding service. Would I stay here again? In a heartbeat. Sure, it's a bit expensive... but the level of service that you get from staying at The Stanford Court Renaissance San Francisco Hotel is well worth the money. It is conveniently located on Nob Hill... in the center of everything important in San Francisco. Fisherman's Wharf is a short walk, as is Union Square. Thanks again to Ramon and the rest of the staff at The Stanford Court Renaissance San Francisco Hotel. You guys made it a pleasure to once again visit your amazing city. I will be a return customer.

I can't say enough good about this little local business. I've been a customer since they opened, often coming in for food and drinks on a fairly regular basis. The drinks are all hand made... with fresh juice that is squeezed from real fruit each and every day. This combined with the top shelf liquor that is used in the well creates an amazing masterpiece of blended flavors that are perfectly crafted by the knowing hands of the owner/bartender Jason. The food is phenomenal. Every dish bursts with flavor and culinary character. All of their produce and meat is fresh, and all dishes are made from scratch (even the meatballs... omg the meatballs!). The menu is large without getting one lost in making a decision. Try the pu-pu platter, you won't be disappointed. The ambiance... what can I say? This place is awesome. From the giant marlin on the wall, to the television playing old episodes of Gilligan's Island, this joint reeks of charm and atmosphere. If you're looking for the VERY best place to have drinks after work, or even a little bite with someone... and you want to impress them with your knowledge of great local Tacoma bars... then you must go to the Tacoma Cabana. You will not be disappointed, and your friends will thank you for introducing you to the experience.
