We are getting ready to welcome everyone to our first preparation group of the year which starts tomorrow! Such an exciting time for everyone starting their adoption journey with us.

Our next preparation group in March is also full but we do have space on our April/May group. If you are interested in adopting and would like a space on the April/May preparation group give us a call on 0131 553 5060 and speak to our friendly duty worker :)

Our young adoptees, along with young adoptees from St Andrew's Children's Society and with help from AFA Scotland and Adoption UK Scotland, have been orgainsing an Adopted Voices Conference as part of #AdoptionWeekScotland. Today we can finally announce that our children will be joined at the conference by Scotland's First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, and that they will all get to meet the First Minister after the conference finishes.

The conference is shaping up to be a huge success and we are all extremely proud of everything the youngsters have done in orgainisng this magnificent event. #YearOfTheYoungPerson #OurChildren #ProudMoments

As part of this year's #AdoptionWeekScoltand we will be holding an Adoption Information Evening on Monday 19th of November from 6pm to 8.30pm at our offices in Edinburgh. Come hear from the Adoption Experts at this free event while drinking all the Tea and Coffee you can manage and enjoying copious amounts of cake. :) http://bit.ly/AdoptionInfoEveningEdinburgh

We are extremely pleased to announce that we have a new working partnership with MyHummy UK. We are now able to give our adopters some of the fabulous MyHummy products that will help with their children's sleep.

Every myHummy product emits 5 types of white noise: hairdryer, vacuum cleaner, ocean waves, falling rain and amniotic fluid with heartbeat.

12 hour non-stop mode - for those babies who need constant white noise to stay asleep.

The Sleep Sensor watches over your baby’s sleep. The sound comes on if baby starts to stir or if there is an increase in the background noise.

The sound fades out after 60 minutes without waking a sleeping baby.

MyHummy toys are machine washable after removing the sound box. All MyHummies are made of certified materials suitable from birth.

All functions are available at a touch of a button. There is no need to take the myHummy Heart from the zip pocket in order to change the settings.

Do have a look at their website myhummy.com/en_GB and if you think their products could help you are your family do get in touch with your worker and we can hopefully get you all set up.

Huge thank you to MyHummy for supporting our adopters!

We have another of our brilliant #Adoption Information Dog Walks happening on Sunday 9th September. If you want to hear more about adopting a child then come along for a lovely walk at the #GartmornDam and hear from the #AdoptionExperts. We are trialling a change to the way we run our preparation groups, which means for the first time in our 95-year history we are going to be running our Adoption Preparation Groups outwith Edinburgh and running them at a venue near you.

We are starting with our October Preparation Group, which will be held in the Falkirk area! So if you stay within, or nearby, to this area and are thinking about adopting, then this may be the right time for you!

Give us a call on 0131 553 5060 and ask to speak to the Duty Worker for more information or fill out and send in our Initial Enquiry form and we shall get back to you. This form can be downloaded here www.scottishadoption.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Initial-Enquiry-Form.doc
