Staff continue to guide students along their leadership journey! Using snowflakes to illustrate the beauty of the individual, students are also learning about the power that comes from individuals working together: #synergy!

The other day during LEEP, Deqo sat with her little brother before activities began. With care & love, she checked in with him to make sure he was prepared for the day. It's become even more obvious that extraordinary leadership doesn't require extraordinary action. It's often as simple as being present & truly listening... even if it is to your little brother :)

What an awesome week! We're so grateful to have Mulife, a LEEP 2014 staff member, volunteer his time with us during his break from university. Also, students learned about the importance of authentic relationships, building off of last week's lesson of self-awareness. We're witnessing Dukwi's emerging leaders!

Later this week we're sending out a #LEEP update, which includes a wonderful letter by Jack valuing the changes he's seen within himself as a LEEP staff member. If you haven't signed-up for updates, it's super easy (http://goo.gl/8XwENb) or +1 this post & we'll message you a direct link to the letter once it's out. As always, thanks for your support!

It seems that all of us, from time-to-time, feel a bit disconnected from our life's #purpose. In her recent blog post, Deqo - LEEP staff member - offers some #empowering advice to help us unleash our inner #power: "It’s now upon you to decide whether to be a prisoner of yourself or to set yourself free." This week LEEP students are drawing trees that represent the people, events, & achievements that contribute to who they are. Staff are helping them to see how self-awareness is essential to leadership.

Who am I, who am I, who am I? / They call me an African child, / An orphan, a refugee, an asylum seeker, / An outcast. / But their words do not reach my bone marrow. Another beautiful & powerful poem from Isaac! http://scottiesplace.org/?p=10085
