My name is Scott Vann. I currently work for The University of Memphis as a Instructional Technology Trainer, in the Center for Teaching and Learning. I have worked in higher education for the last 9 years.

I received my Bachelors in Information Technology and my Masters in Management of Information Systems from the U of M. I am excited to continue by studies by pursing a doctorate in Instructional Design and Technology. In my free time, which I don't have much of lately, I enjoy flying small engine planes. I am also an avid cyclist and enjoy biking around Memphis. I am father to a 7 month old son, Jacob Thomas.

I am looking forward to my first semester of my Doctoral program in the College of Education at the U of M. Excited to learn about instructional design and expand my knowledge on various instructional technologies. It's going to be a busy, exciting Summer!

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” Steve Jobs (borrowed from Douglas Starnes)
