Monroe County Auditor Amy Gerstman and Democratic candidate for Auditor Steve Saulter conspired to transfer $7,000 out of the line for Gerstman's salary to pay part time staff.

Gerstman and Saulter know that the county is obligated to pay Gerstman's salary through the end of the year (since she is an elected official and can't be fired) and that the county council will have to cough up the money.

This is a sneaky, underhanded and unethical way for Saulter and Gerstman to increase the department's budget after more money for part time workers was rejected by the county council. As taxpayers, we're fortunate they backed down when called out on their unethical behavior.

This is just another example of why Democrats do not deserve the public's trust in running the Auditor's Office.
