#Shaggymane mushroom I found at school. Have you every tried one of these delicate mushrooms. They begin to form an inky dark covering soon after harvest. The trick is to prepare them quickly after you harvest them. This is always a challenging task for a chef and I have always wanted to add them to the menu, because I like challenges.
Preparing shaggy mane mushrooms.
1. wipe dirt from mushroom with a clean washcloth
2. Slice mushroom into large 1-.5 inch slices( the loose a lot of their size when cooked.)
3. saute with butter, onions, and garlic
4. Add to soup, cream sauce, or to finish a poultry dish.
