This is hard to write. Without help, the Serving Worlds podcast will shut down in six weeks. http://blog.servingworlds.com/2016/01/20/keep-the-podcast-alive/
I have been producing a free weekly science fiction podcast since 2009, and I’m proud to count thousands of you as weekly listeners…but unless something changes I can no longer produce a free, weekly podcast. If you want weekly serial adventures set in Farlost, Walk The Fire, Enemy Lines and other worlds to continue, please support the stories on Patreon.
In 2014 my wife suffered a head injury in a car accident. She is still unable to work, leaving me the only parent working in our household. I took on more contracting work, resulting in a two year hiatus from selling new ebooks and audiobooks of my own. For all that time, I kept up a free, weekly podcast. I love bringing it to you, and it led to my career as an audiobook narrator, but I have ignored the production side of being a writer for too long. I can’t do that any longer.
In 2016 I plan to release three more ebooks and audiobooks, and write more for 2017 release. I can either take that time out of my writing, which will make it harder to sell more ebooks and audiobooks, or by cutting down the time I spend podcasting. Patreon support has helped me continue the free podcast through 2015, but just not enough. If you want more weekly serial adventures, please support the stories now Patreon.
I believe you want to keep this podcast going. Patreon is a way to commit to any amount you like: even ten cents or a quarter per weekly episode, will make a huge difference! If you think the stories deserve the cost of a cup of coffee a month, you’ll receive extra stories, artwork, and insights into the worlds I tell my stories in.
It’s up to you, the listener, if the free podcast will go dark after the current story ‘Farlost: The Rundown’ finishes its run in March. Email John@ServingWorlds.com if you have any questions, and thank you for giving me your valuable time to tell you these stories, for all these years! I hope we have years more to travel together!
