On Feb 13 2009, the world looked at us with a puzzled expression as we celebrated the 1234567890th second since the UNIX epoch.

On Dec 12 2012, we will watch the world with disgusted expressions as the simple minded stare at a monitor waiting for the seconds to tick over to 12/12/12 12:12:12.

lol,yes!
People are saying that this will be the last occurrence of a repudiative number date we will ever see again for at lest another 100 years or so... but there will never be a 1234567890 unix time stamp ever again! whats more unique and significant! the unix time stamp. such beauty!

Been trying to find the equivalent of /etc/network/interfaces for adding an alias to an interace on boot for OS X ... haven't found anything yet. #osx

Yeah I can do it, it's more enabling it at start up so that I don't have to keep re-enabling it. I could just write something to run at start up, but I would rather it be "official" and be in a config somewhere.

Meanwhile in Australia... Aussies winning in an extremely close race, Channel NINE cuts to interview with our swimmers and what they will be eating tonight before sleeping. #NINEFail   #NBCFail  - There's one in every country... Olympics for everyone, I think not!

www.therootkit.com looks like an interesting project. I might back it later tonight, as well as the new Elite game.

I decided to consolidate all the cloud servers I had as I wasn't using half of them. I managed to accidentally delete the database for Kenj.in but luckily I had moved it to the Cloud Database service that +Rackspace Hosting provides.

I'm down to 3 servers from 6, with 2 more to go today. The consolidation isn't so much to save money but because I just don't have time to watch/use them all.

I recently got rid of my Arvixe hosting account due to the same reason. The major hit on that one was the decision to remove Gammy.net completely. I'd become sick and tired of people reading the guides that I had posted on it, only to say that they didn't work.

See the thing is, that the one major one did work, as I had a working machine reinstalled from scratch with the resources provided. I can't help if the people complaining couldn't follow a guide that many others had thanked me for.

I'm just sick of people that just expect to have a problem solved without them lifting a finger. The same can be said about people that Google for a solution to their problems, then copy-pasta the answer expecting it to work, then complain when it doesn't saying that it doesn't work.

This is why I removed Gammy completely. I had to stop the perpetuation of helping these fools, even though I had helped so many other thanking people. If I do go back to posting helpful guides to common problems, it will be behind a paywall. I need some sort of compensation for having to deal with the idiots.

If an advertising company has "We don't Speak Geek" as a sales point, it basically means; We understand that you have no clue what you are doing, so let us take control of your business, then we'll charge you a stupidly large amount of money for a mediocre job.  #advertising
