A few months ago, I turned 50.  That was a first for me.  Here is another first: I am very directly going to ask you to buy something from me (at 40% off).  Use this link (http://goo.gl/jVbHi0) to do it anytime after midnight MT tonight (in other words, anytime on February 26th based on US Mountain Time).

I am NOT desperate for money, nor is there any risk of SCOTTeVEST (http://goo.gl/jVbHi0) going under if you don't buy something.  You would essentially be helping me do an experiment, win a bet, and by saving 40% off normal prices, I think you'll wind up as a winner, too.

Here's the background:

You already know that I post on social media constantly.  Recently, I took a break from Facebook, and you know what it did to sales at SCOTTeVEST?  Nothing.  As in N-O-T-H-I-N-G.  Didn't go up, didn't go down.

This sparked a conversation with my wife and business partner Laura.  She not only said that she felt social media was a waste of my time, and that it did not contribute to sales, but also that it COULD NOT contribute to sales.  She bet me that no matter what I did, no matter what I said, I couldn't generate sales through social media.

So this is a case study, and it's a bet, and it's an opportunity for me to put myself on the line.  If you read Pocket Man (http://www.amazon.com/Pocket-Man-Unauthorized-Autobiography-Passionate-ebook/dp/B00P33UNH4/) you know I am always willing to put myself on the line.

So this is my challenge to you: help me prove Laura (and the team) wrong by buying something through this link (http://goo.gl/jVbHi0) for 40% off during out Anniversary sale.  Please use my link (http://goo.gl/jVbHi0) so your purchase is traceable back to social media.

It's an awesome sale, and here is how it works:
The sale starts at 12:01AM MT on February 26 and runs through March 2.
Use my link and only my link to visit the page - (http://goo.gl/jVbHi0)
There will be a promo code posted there for 40% off 10 amazing items: Men's and Women's Trench, Lola, Puffer, Revolution, Molly, Tropiformer, Kelly, Men's and Women's Sterlings
All Sales are Final
Will you help me win the bet and prove that social media can lead to sales?  If not, I will need to seriously curtail the time I spend here, which I don't want to do... and I hope you don't want me to do.

Oh, and while you're at it... like the SeV fan page (https://www.facebook.com/scottevest), too.

Save money, help me win and get some great clothes with pockets for 40% off? Click here after midnight and go to it (http://goo.gl/jVbHi0)!

I'm Out of Here!

Scott Jordan

Sincerely,

Scott aka the Pocket Man www.PocketMan.org

+Scott Jordan Your wife's probably right if the only measure is increased sales but you're also also humanizing your company with your posts. Good P.R. might not pay off right away with an immediate sale but it can result in a lifetime customer.

It takes more than passion, promotion and money to sustain a business. It requires leadership and management (and a dozen other things, but let’s just stick with these two for now). Before I started SCOTTeVEST in 2000, I moved from working in a dysfunctional family business to working in odious law firms to working in a dysfunctional startup in one of the most wild west periods of modern American business. In other words, I had never worked for a ...

New developments in SCOTTeVEST’s bid to resurrect the bankrupt seat-back pocket catalog companyA few weeks ago, the news broke that SkyMall was bankrupt. You know SkyMall - everyone knows SkyMall - that ubiquitous catalog found in the seat-back pockets of every commercial airplane in the US. Even if you didn’t love SkyMall, everyone knows what it is. I know it better than most: I sold my multi-pocket travel clothing line SCOTTeVEST inside for yea...

Introduction
See http://www.scottevest.com

Scott Jordan, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SeV. Before founding SeV, Scott practiced real estate and corporate law with Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP , an international law firm with over 600 attorneys, and DLA Piper , a international law firm with over 3200 attorneys worldwide. Scott received his Juris Doctor (Summa Cum Laude and Order of the Coif) from Case Western Reserve University College of Law in May of 1992. He published a law review article cited by several Federal Appellate Courts. But the law bored Scott; he was always an entrepreneur at heart. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University majoring in Entrepreneurship. He started Images Calendar Line while at OSU (right click to download a compilation of videos about this venture here), and then went into a family business. As a result of Scott's accomplishments with SeV, he has been written about extensively, including several articles in the Wall Street Journal and New York Times (among many other magazines and newspapers (see here) and several college textbooks, Scott has since been featured in many TV shows, including the CNBC's hit show The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch (click here to see the full interview), Fine Livng Network's Radical Sabbatical ( Windows Media | Quicktime) as well as Japan's hit show, The World's Most Successful People. To see all the videos about Scott, visit our YouTube page here. To learn about the inspiration for SeV, click here. His favorite hobbies include: skiing, scooting, amateur auto racing, tennis, jogging, yoga, listening to the Grateful Dead, hanging out with Laura, and their 3 standard poodles: Lucy, Chloe and Margaux. Scott invites you to follow him on Twitter and connect with him on LinkedIn.
