Online reviews can sometimes make or break a buying decision, but how do you spot the bogus comments from the honest ones? A team of engineers is developing a way to identify groups of false reviews.

The hotel staff of the Intercontinental recommended we try Oola since it was open late. What a mistake...when we walked in the place smelled like bleach and cleaning solution and the smell never left. Next we ordered drinks. A martini with blue cheese olives. The server looked at me like I had invented something stupid. Said they did not have them. I said "ok I will take regular" and he said well maybe we could stuff them but I knew it would be a mistake so I just said "not necessary." When the drink showed up it was in one of the smallest martini glasses I have ever seen. Like something you would get at an all you could drink New Years Party at a cheap airport hotel. AND it was half full and the blue cheese olives showed up strangely . Next came dinner order. Asked for a large veggie plate of assorted items that were on the menu like Brussels Sprout (OUT), roasted cauliflower (OUT)...well what do you have? Let me find out...we have mushrooms, chickory, radishes, and broc rabe...fine bring it. Plate shows up with fennel added and just not a fan of it, and the food was charred to a taste similar to briquet you would find in a bbq grill. Add the fact that we waited and waited for this and other items that were very lackluster, had two drinks completely forgotten about while we watched our server chat with other employees and you have a terrible restaurant that needs improvement on not only the facility (beat up), but the kitchen and service as well. Would not recommend at all and would not return.

UPDATED: Deciding that everyone can use a second chance, James the bartender made the most of it for this establishment. He convinced us with his service and great attitude that Eddie V's is worth returning to. Had a quality meal and good conversation at the bar. Great lounge atmosphere as well for dining if you prefer that to dining rooms. Had recently dined at an Eddie V's in Tampa and had a great meal and amazing service so was expecting the same thing in Chicago. Unfortunately the service is no where near as professional as Tampa was. Our waiter was marginally attentive and did not seem like this was a job he enjoyed. We ordered drinks and they took nearly ten minutes to arrive...part of the issue was he stopped at a table to talk and really showed no regard for his other tables as near as we could tell. Once the drinks arrived we told him we better order or we might not see him again. We place our entire order. A few minutes later one of our party became very ill and we needed to turn this into a to go order. It was approximately 15 minutes into the order and we were expecting the food any moment. We tracked him down and explained the situation and he headed to the kitchen. What happened after that is anyone's guess...the food took another 12-15 minutes or so. It would have been faster to plate the food and ask for a doggie bag that this cluster. Can't say that this was his fault or the kitchen but either way it was disappointing to have a sick person sitting here waiting to go. As far as the food it is not fair to judge a to go order, but if you choose to order the brussel sprouts be prepared to eat 50% onions...totally ruined the order and do not recall if it is listed on menu. Great location, beautiful decor and nice wine list although very over priced for most of the selections as compared to other fine dining locations in the city. Wanted very much to like it here to add to the list of places to go...difficult to say if I would return.

One of the healthiest menus in town. Very quick service (Summer did a great job for us while we were here), and high quality food. If you are concerned about eating healthy while in Vegas this menu will not disappoint.

Had a great experience as a guest of the hotel. Extremely attentive staff. In fact when the wi fi was not working in our room very well we had a hotel member spend two hours replacing the unit so I could work. The restaurant, 16, was a nice place for breakfast and everyone including the bell staff was great. If you are an out of towner, this is located in a great spot near many restaurants and shopping spots. You won't be disappointed. One issue was that the concierge was quite useless when discussing 'new' restaurants. Actually asked me where I HAD NOT been??? We started over with where I had been and then he handed me a map once I rattled off ten-15 spots ...that was disappointing. Would have been 5 stars had it not been for him. Would return here for sure!

We switched our business to Comcast about a year ago and have had more outages in that time then we did in the last 4 years combined. They are slow to respond and truly could care less about restoring service to a business who lives and dies by the internet and phone service. If you are considering switching I would take Comcast off the list of potential vendors to consider.
