SEMAPHORE LAKES

The Semaphore Lakes trail starts from the 22KM mark of the Hurley River FSR. The trailhead is marked by flagging tape on a small tree where the car pullout. (Driving directions at bottom of this post). Depending on your start off point the drive to Semaphore Lakes can be long. The last 22KM on the Hurley FSR being the worst of it.

The hike from the trailhead to the Semaphore Lakes area is about 2.5km and the trail gains about 350m in elevation over that distance.

CYPRESS MOUNTAIN LOOKOUT

The best view of Vancouver and the Lower Mainland is from the viewpoint on Cypress Mountain.

The Cypress View Point is the best place for locals and tourists to capture Vancouver and the Lower Mainland on a clear day. The view point is located about half way up to Cypress Provincial Park.

Whether you’re heading up for skiing or snowshoeing in the winter or hiking in the summer make sure you take a few minutes to pull over and take in the view.

BERG LAKE TRAIL – PACKING LIST

This is the second blog post in the Mt. Robson Series I’ll be continuing to post as I plan for the upcoming trip. I’m looking forward to sharing the planning, others blog posts, videos etc. I’ve found along the way in hopes it will help others on their trip.

This post covers the packing list I’m preparing for the hike this summer. The list below is a generic backpacking list I will use just as a starting point. I already have many of the items listed and when possible I’ll link to the item on the Mountain Equipment Co-Op or other outdoor retailer where it was purchased.
