Kobe's Next Chapter #kobe   #mambaday   #mambaout   #icon
Kobe Bryant scored 60 points in his final game in the NBA. A storybook ending to a legendary career. Of course there are still the haters who focused on his 50 shot attempts, but this game was about Bryant, not the Los Angeles Lakers so it’s a null point. Many fans wonder what Bryant will …

Lakers Draft Strategy: Fit or Phenom? #nba   #lakers
With another trip to the lottery on the horizon, the Lakers will again have their choice at a young potential superstar (assuming they keep the pick). If the Lakers come away with a top three pick, do they go for roster fit or best talent available?

Lakers Conspiracy Theory? #lakers   #nba   #kobebryant
Kobe Bryant got chastised for signing a 2-year $48.5 million extension in 2013. Technically he could have signed for more, but that was the Lakers’ offer. Bryant maligned as a selfish player throughout his career, swallowed future cap space and any hope of signing big free agents in the off seasons to come. That was …

The 40 Hour Work Week is Dead
Scott Asai originally shared:

Have you ever wondered when the 40-hour work week became the norm? Traditions don’t always stand the test of time (just ask the church) when purpose is lost. Just because you work 9-5 doesn’t make you productive. This is what matters: getting stuff done.…

As the Lakers trudge towards their 3rd consecutive failed season, all can be traced back to the top. After Phil Jackson retired as head coach in 2011, Jim Buss had the opportunity to court Jerry Sloan, Rick Adelman or even Coach K. Instead he fired any employee affiliated with Jackson and started a flurry of failed …

A Lakers Christmas Poem #lakers   #nba   #christmas
‘Twas the night before Christmas, five years ago the Lakers were the best; Now simply they’re known as the Sixers of the West. If you told me before the season, we’d compete for the bottom three; I’d say you’re crazy, stop watching ESPN on TV. Ben Simmons is the target since we’re in full tank …

Introduction
Author. I wrote a book based on my transition from Youth Pastor to Entrepreneur called The Startup Church. Jumping from the non-profit world to owning a business was a challenging, but the experience gives me credibility to help others make career changes.

Blogger. Two of my favorite hobbies are: leadership and sports. I’ve been able to combine both by writing for Lakers Nation, The Lake Show Life and Game 7 Network. I also turned my personal blog into a podcast called Winsight, which uses leadership in sports examples to help you win at the game of life.

Speaker. Nothing is more compelling than a great storyteller. I speak monthly at churches, schools and networking events. I get my inspiration from other exceptional communicators, especially through TED Talks.

I’m a Certified Professional Coach, have a MA in Organizational Leadership and a BA in Psychology.

I love connecting with people and exploring new opportunities/partnerships. Feel free to contact me at scott@growingforward.net
