Ever since the “breakfast meeting” between Kobe Bryant and Rajon Rondo in Boston, there’s been speculation it was more than just sharing a meal together. Rondo ended up being traded to the Dallas Mavericks back in December, but it hasn’t been completely smooth sailing since. For example, in Tuesday’s win against the Toronto Raptors, Rondo […]

The Most Expensive Tutor In The World #lakers   #nba
Steve Nash has been mysteriously absent from the Lakers organization since he decided to “shut it down” before the season started. Jordan Clarkson has been in contact with him via text throughout the season, but over the All-Star break they got together and worked out. Clarkson is more of a combo guard who prefers to […]

3 Takeaways from Kobe "The Interview" #kobebryant   #nba   #lakers
Kobe Bryant is the most fascinating athlete in sports. Fans either love him or hate him, but everyone wants to watch him. Bryant’s interview with Ahmad Rashad on NBA TV was both eye-opening and insightful. What goes on in his head? What drives him to be the best? Who is Kobe Bryant? Although he touched on […]

Should the Lakers trade their Draft Pick? #nba   #lakers
All Lakers talk this season has been about “tanking” and securing a Top 5 Pick. Based on the Lakers play, we should have no problem accomplishing that feat. But what if we don’t get the #1 pick? Is there a “sure thing” outside of Jahlil Okafor? As a fan, the Lakers have been more like […]

Why L.A. is Still a Preferred Destination #lakers   #nba
The Los Angeles Lakers were silent during the trade deadline last week and when the media asked Mitch Kupchak what their #1 priority was going forward, he responded “the draft.” The Lakers didn’t have many assets to offer other teams besides expiring contracts. They also didn’t want to take on additional salary and giving up […]

Introduction
Author. I wrote a book based on my transition from Youth Pastor to Entrepreneur called The Startup Church. Jumping from the non-profit world to owning a business was a challenging, but the experience gives me credibility to help others make career changes.

Blogger. Two of my favorite hobbies are: leadership and sports. I’ve been able to combine both by writing for Lakers Nation, The Lake Show Life and Game 7 Network. I also turned my personal blog into a podcast called Winsight, which uses leadership in sports examples to help you win at the game of life.

Speaker. Nothing is more compelling than a great storyteller. I speak monthly at churches, schools and networking events. I get my inspiration from other exceptional communicators, especially through TED Talks.

I’m a Certified Professional Coach, have a MA in Organizational Leadership and a BA in Psychology.

I love connecting with people and exploring new opportunities/partnerships. Feel free to contact me at scott@growingforward.net
