The small but perfectly formed Fordyce Castle, Banffshire. Fordyce Castle was built in 1592 by Thomas Menzies, Laird of Durn and one-time Provost of Aberdeen. At its core is a typical 16th-century L-plan tower house, three storeys high and amply provided with gun loops and shot holes.

Next to the castle is the old church built by the Pictish Saint, St Tarkarucan (St Tarquin). The church was abandoned in 1804, but what remains is one of the most interesting old churchyards in North East Scotland

The Auld Scotland tartan is a lovely blend of muted colours and earthy tones, reflecting the Scottish countryside during harvest time. This heavyweight 16 oz fabric is now en route to a customer in Ontario, who'll be using it to upholster a chair. https://www.scotsconnection.com/Tartan-Fabrics__c-p-0-0-70.aspx
