Due to the flashy premier classes (#TrophyTruck & #Class10) smaller classes have a disproportionately lower representation in the media. In a niche sport that broadcast "major events" WEEKS after they been held even worst.
They get barely to no attention during that limited B-Class network TV airing

What’s the biggest change to the Baja 1000 from the early days? “The biggest change we have seen, and it is a shame, in my opinion, is the introduction of GPS. Nobody gets lost anymore. When I first raced at Baja we had to pre-run the course and remember the danger spots. Nowadays, the guys practice with GPS and they mark it down and the co-driver tells them where it is. So drivers don’t get lost in the fog anymore at 3 am. If I had my way I’d take the GPS away.

The beauty of this whole thing is that fact that no matter what nobody can go and race in the Indianapolis 500. But, everybody can come and fulfill that little boy or girl that has always wanted to slide sideways in the dirt and be Parnelli Jones out in the Baja wilderness.

Predators seize Ensenada - This article in a Ensenada newspaper pretty much reflects the peoples general attitude….. And it is not limited to Ensenada, count on it! I know, some of you, “seasoned Baja experts”, will claim otherwise, but you living detached from reality in an alternative-facts world!
