A great photographer gets entrepreneurial

Paul Sakuma worked for the Associated Press for 33 years. His camera lenses have been trained on presidents and VIPs around Silicon Valley, from Steve Jobs, to Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg.

Yesterday I did a hangout on Google+ with him and heard many of these stories, but I also hear his struggles as he has now left the Associated Press to start his own photographic business. How do you find new customers? Increasingly that happens on social networks like LinkedIn, Google+, and Facebook. 

Was my advice to him good? What would you recommend he do as a great photographer but a new businessman?
