Stroke drug, alteplase could be used more widely - A drug, alteplase that breaks up blood clots in stroke patients’ brains could be used more widely without increased risk, a study shows. It had been thought that giving the drug to people with signs of early brain damage caused by a stroke would increase the chances of them suffering a bleed - which can be fatal. http://ow.ly/2X8TuJ

Allergy drug inhibits hepatitis C in mice - An over-the-counter drug indicated to treat allergy symptoms limited hepatitis C virus activity in infected mice, according to a National Institutes of Health study. The results suggest that the drug, chlorcyclizine HCl (CCZ), potentially could be used to treat the virus in people.
