Complications of gout

If one is having high uric acid for a prolonged period, it may trigger gout attack. But, it's rare to get lots of gout attacks, but if you do, you can develop permanent damage to the joint (chronic gout). For e.g. fingers may become crooked.

Fingers with crooked joints as shown in picture have actually improved from a much crooked situation.

Cooking Salt Added With Potassium

We are what we eat.

In our Blended Cooking Salt, we've added in potassium. Why? What is potassium? Potassium is a mineral that’s found in foods, and not naturally produced by the body. Our body needs it for various functions, and here's one of them.

It was found that higher potassium intakes are associated with a decrease in blood pressure (on average about 2 to 4mmHg) when taken by people who have high blood pressure.

This study supports the recommended daily amount of potassium (3,500mg).

The study was initiated by WHO and countries like Switzerland, UK, Japan and Korea, and results were published in British Medical Journal.

"0" Sugar Cookies

CNY is around the corner! If you're making cookies for your loved ones, "Erythritol With Luo Han Fruit" would be a good choice in replacing sugar. The making process is just the same. You'll enjoy the same natural sweetness, without worrying about the "side effect" of sugar.

If you've family members who are concerned about taking sugar, try making them customized cookies especially during festivals. It's worth the effort seeing them enjoying the munch and the smiles on their face.

Knee Pain ~ Could It Be High Uric Acid?

Mdm Ng has been going for jogging every morning in an attempt to reduce her over weight condition. She's in her mid 40's. Lately she started feeling pain in her knees with some heat surrounding them.

Tested for her uric acid, and the result was higher than normal.

Obviously she needs to stop putting pressure on her knee joints and reduce her uric acid level. Brisk walking would be good.
