"Hard-earned success in life is wasted on the people least likely to appreciate it."
The fortress of classic economics was built on the slushy marsh of rational consumer theory. Thinking you can have every piece of information about a product is, in fact, anything but rational.

Wondering if the #motox #kitkat update includes the audio tunneling features in 4.4 to improve battery while listening to music.  I have the GSM Developer's Edition.  Thanks again to +Punit Soni and his group for making this the best phone on the market right now!

Fabulous discussion (specifically the link to Ian's blog post here http://blog.iangclifton.com/2013/03/30/the-negative-impact-of-ios-on-android/) on iOS design hampering Android apps. I see this all too often and apps such as Falcon Pro shatter the idea that an android app can't be beautiful, fast, innovative and awesome.

Sometimes I have a thought for the Android team when they realize again and again that Twitter, Facebook and most of big major companies are just pushing unfinished and horrible applications to the customers.. It just requires a look to the attached pictures

Picture 1: Overdraw in Twitter.
Picture 2: Twitter tablet UI.
Picture 3: Facebook Menu button of shame, and splashscreen.

+Reto Meier , +Nick Butcher +Roman Nurik, +Adam Koch , +Romain Guy  +Adam Powell , +Juhani Lehtimäki +Marie Schweiz (and way more, one post is not enough to name them all) are just spending hours everyday to teach us great design tricks and share awesome source code, slides, knowledge and passion.

Their work is so great that it is nearly impossible to miss the basics. Every Android app should look great

-> With at least a basic tablet UI
-> Without overdraw
-> Without menu button of shame
-> Without a back button that is more shame than a menu button of shame).

They work really hard for that and they are just ignored by these bigs companies...

I don't understand what's happening, but It would be very hard to contain my anger if I was one of them..

(and +Jean-Baptiste Quéru is the one that also look at horrible things everyday, but on some other huge issues)

By creating crappy apps, you are not just hurting the user, you are also hurting the hours of work of all these people and you are going to make them sad and nervous!

Hey +Motorola Mobility and +Punit Soni - how about a smart action for headphones that you can set different volumes and whether to be on ring or vibrate, specific to headphones in use?  Would love this for my #motox  !  I want to be able to have different "profiles" where regardless how my phone is when I plug them in, it reverts to volume and ring/vibrate settings specific to headphones, as I choose.

G+ Questions - Mobile  -

Moto X GSM Developer's Edition with 4.4 - had to disable G+ because it was using >50% battery life when charging.  Tried deleting data, uninstalling updates and reinstalling updates and got the same thing.  Just sits there crunching CPU while charging which isn't a big deal except my phone is in the 90 degree F range when I wake!  May be placebo, but I feel like I get better battery life after disabling it.  I want my picture sync back though so a fix would be grand.

"Back then, it was just kind of a curiosity, but now it's becoming an annual tradition," Tyson told NBC News. "It started out with tens of people, and then hundreds, and now there are thousands of people who block traffic. I've alerted the police department of this, just as an issue of public safety, that perhaps they should close off streets. We're still trying to resolve that. They're not accustomed to closing off streets for cosmic reasons."
New Yorkers were wowed on Wednesday by a sunset that was perfectly framed by skyscrapers, thanks to an urban astronomical phenomenon known as Manhattanhenge. The same planetary tilt that determines the seasons also dictates exactly where the sun will go down each evening —  …

Attempted to register for Google I/O... seconds after it opened I got a 500 error and had to painstakingly and slowly log in, even though I'd done so before as suggested.  Then the first time through the queue I got a 500 error AGAIN.  :(

First things first. We brought a very large party, but we called in advance and they said they could handle it. They could not. Food took over two hours to come out. When it finally did it was fine but nothing is worth two hours. If you say you can accommodate a large party, you better be able to deliver. Beyond dissatisfied.

If you haven't checked out IAW, you're missing out. The best, coolest bartendresses, the most amazing local craft beer, and cool events define this as a local haven. Be forewarned though, you may never see beer the same again.

I shopped at all the local dealers - even Gainesville. All of the others played fast and loose with pricing. I'd done my homework and knew the invoice price including options. SoJax was the only one that was honest and open with pricing. David Dombrowski was my salesperson, and as long as I stay a Subaru owner, I'll buy from them. Honesty is entirely too rare but extremely valued to me. You won't be disappointed unless you go there to play a game too. Be honest with them and it will come back to you in spades.

India's restaurant is a solid 4 stars. I've been to 5th element and here, and though 5th element is more traditional or authentic Indian food, India's Restaurant has a huge selection of vegetarian cuisine. As I don't eat the chicken, I can't answer to it, but the veggie fritters must be eaten to be appreciated and they have a few spicy chutneys to kick things up a notch or two. At about $7 for buffet + water, the value is awesome. It's also right next door to an Indian grocer, so pick up some spices for home on your way out!
