To render something is to apply a plaster like mixture made up of cement, sand and lime that is applied over wooden or metal frames and mesh work, or applied over brick, stone or concrete. It can also be called stucco. It is mostly used for aesthetic purposes but can improve water resistance and fire ratings. Many of us use it on our houses and boundary fences. - See more at: http://schmikonicko.com/blog/how-to-clean-your-rendered-fence/#sthash.UALKeR2c.dpuf

It can be a battle to keep destructive insects to a minimum in your garden or vegetable patch. But we can use other plants to help the fight and keep sprays or chemicals to a minimum. This is often called Companion Planting and it's simply using other plants to help manage pests while helping each other to grow better and more healthy. Many pest repellent plants are herbs, so as a bonus, you will have a good supply of fresh herbs. - See more at: http://schmikonicko.com/blog/ways-to-keep-harmful-bugs-from-your-vege-garden/#sthash.YYDVXOU7.dpuf

It's amazing what a clean roof on the house can do for your street appeal. It can dramatically improve the appearance and presentation of your house and property. A clean roof will also rid the roof of insects which in turn reduces the chance for vermin or birds to possibly break into the roof cavity itself. - See more at: http://schmikonicko.com/blog/cleaning-your-roof/#sthash.ZGC9H8ko.dpuf

Compost is decomposed organic matter. Composting is a natural process to recycle organic material such as leaves and vegetable scraps into a rich soil. This makes compost extremely rich in nutrients and is a perfect natural fertiliser and conditioner for use in gardens, landscaping, horticulture, and agriculture. - See more at: http://schmikonicko.com/blog/composting/#sthash.K6dNcrPN.dpuf
