Can you believe THIS? The C Clamp Special Chevy GMC Story
The distributor cap, which is normally secured with 2 small screws, was broken. The distributor itself, which holds the mounting bosses for the two screws, has a broken mount not allowing the cap to be properly secured. We briefly ran the engine to confirm visibly the issue. That’s when we found the culprit. A 2” C-Clamp, typically used in woodworking, had been applied to the distributor to secure the cap to the base.

The C Clamp Special Chevy GMC
A few days ago a vehicle came in for service with a common complaint.
Poor performance, basic misfire occurring. The vehicle happened to be a 1996 GMC Vandura Starfleet, a large full size conversion van with a Chevy V8 engine buried underneath the front end. After inspecting the basic we determined that spark was not getting to the engine properly. We began tracing wires back to the distributor and found an interesting sight all together.

This is Saul Reisman over at Saul’s Automotive and we’re going to talk a little bit about the way your brakes fail when they start to wear out. From the factory your vehicle’s brake pads are anywhere from five-to-10 millimeters thick.

The Timing Chain Issue With The Mazda Auto Repair Englewood
The chain that we’re looking at in this Mazda CX-7 has a total of three mounting points.
Two up top that are approximately four inches in diameter and sit six inches apart, leaving only about a two-inch gap between the pulleys, and then at the bottom of the engine, a small three-inch diameter rotating crank pulley. Because we have these two round pulleys at the top and one at the bottom, we have a guide on either side to hold that tension tight and then a rod that pushes against it to hold this chain in place.

Hi there. I’m Saul Reisman, here at Saul’s Automotive, and today, we’re going to talk a little bit about your brake calipers and the way the hydraulic system works in your vehicle.
Ninety-five percent of all motor vehicles on the road use a disc brake with a hydraulic caliper in the front of the vehicle, and 85 percent use the same set up in the rear of the vehicle.
This is one of the most commonly and widely used brake systems that we see. When owners typically either come in or call about their brake concerns, they’re always worried about the brake pad, itself, which is the actual friction material designed to burn up. This often is the first place to burn up and get replaced and is the easiest and most cost-effective d-service to keep you on the road. Maintaining Control and Maintaining Situational Awareness | Radar Detection | Denver Colorado

Good morning. I’m Saul Reisman here at Saul’s Automotive. Today, we’re going to talk about — a little bit about maintaining control and maintaining situational awareness. As a motor vehicle operator, just like a pilot, you need to always be aware of your surroundings. For many of us drivers, some of which who travel at high speed — though not recommended by Saul’s Automotive — we always obey all traffic enforcement laws.
We see several owners that wish to repair their vehicle for a little bit more situational awareness when it comes to radar or laser frequencies, particularly when it comes to speed enforcement policies. To combat some of these issues, when a vehicle like a 2016 BMW X5 M comes in our door, which is capable of 155 miles an hour top speed from the factory, designed for Autobahn traveling, the owner opted for a little bit more awareness in this case.

Upgrading And Maintaining A 1965 +Ford Mercury Marauder | Denver
This was a pretty special vehicle when this vehicle came out. Only a few thousand were made in this trim package and had a few options that really made it one of the true performance keepers that seems to have been forgotten about.
While we see lots of Camaros and Novas and Mustangs from the ‘60s that people are restoring there is very very few of these vehicles still on the road. This vehicle was equipped from the factor with a 390 Big Block V8, a four-barrel carburetor, a four-speed automatic transmission and was factory produced at just under 370 horsepower.

Suspension Components Upgrade Control Arm Auto Repair Englewood CO
Because hitting bumps will make this arm arc upward or downward accordingly from where it’s mounted, we have to have a significant spring pressure in this area. As a result, not only does the pivot on the frame end see thousands of pound of force, and this can be where those control arm bushings are mounted, but the actual ball joint here at the end, which is the largest ball joint in your vehicle, will see constant abuse. Every time your tire hits a bump, this joint gets hit. It physically presses up and down every time, which means inside that ball and socket, we have a round ball pushing straight up, sitting in a base, and this bowl is pushing into it constantly. Learn more about how this important #suspension component.

Suspension Components Tie Rod Auto Repair Englewood

The next step in the front end of your suspension that we’re going to be looking at today is what we call the tie rod, what many people often refer to as the tire rod. The correct terminology is tie, T-I-E, as this rod physically ties the steering knuckles to the center of the vehicle.
When your vehicle is driving down the road, we have a center mechanism, often referred to as a center link or as the rack and pinion, depending on the style of vehicle you’re driving. We’ll talk more about that later. That pivots side to side to physically push the wheels as you steer. There’s a total of four joints in this system.
