Agents, due to escalating concerns by the World Health Organization regarding the Zika virus, and the challenges it presents, the #Obsidian Rio event has been reclassified as a Satellite Flash Shard anomaly. The new Primary city for the events occurring on 27 FEB will be Seattle, WA where Susanna Moyer will be making her appearance. The Seattle event will also be a Flash Shard anomaly.

If you previously purchased a Supporter Kit for Rio we will be refunding your purchases in full over the next several days. You will then be able to purchase Rio supporter kits at the lower Satellite price at: https://obsidianriosatellite.splashthat.com. No further action is required if you have already purchased a kit for Seattle, WA. The Seattle event and pricing has been changed to reflect a Primary XM Anomaly event and its features. Tickets can be reserved here: https://obsidianseattle.splashthat.com/

Free yourself by pitching these 200 things today.
Living with less isn't about the number of things you get rid of it's about living with enough to be content and getting rid of the rest. The rest is just clutter, unnecessary, energy-draining clutter. Here is a list of 200 Things to Throw Away. This list isn't a list of things that I have

Goruck - Pay your way to winning anomaly?

Edit. My point in this post is not WHY Goruck events are that expensive, but why NIA/Ingress think it's appropriate to add this kind of p2w-element to this game that according to their values should be free and accessible for all.

Edit n:o 2. When you are saying that so what, Goruck costs money, I would also encourage you to keep in mind that the sums for Goruck in Rio are one third of average local monthly income. One third. In Sri Lanka the Goruck fee is half of average monthly income.

------------

I was truly hyped about Goruck ops, new badges, possibility to help your team in anomaly, do challenging things while playing the game etc. I was about to sign up and I stared at a sum of 105 dollars on my screen. And my reaction to that was and still is what the f*ck is this supposed to mean?

I have loved Ingress because it's accessable for all, you don't need to pay anything (yeah, there's key capsules and frackers and whatnot, but prices are still reasonable and they are not elementary in playing the everyday game). But this - this is straightforward 'give us money, we give you intel'. And that sucks, big time.

I know that in comments people will tell me that travelling to anomaly sites and accommodation will cost money and that itself is exclusive. That is true, I know lots of agents who can't be able to participate in anomalies because of that. Luckily there are many offsite-options for participation and I am really glad they exist! Also local Ingress communities arrange free and/or affordable accomodations for us financially less fortunate players.

When Goruck was announced it was presented as one optional Ingress activity you can do at anomaly sites to help your team to win. No mentions of ridiculous sums you need to pay to be able to participate. Unfortunately this arrangement that makes possible to just pay for the information and other advantages is in my books a regrettable low I never though I would witness in the game I love so much. So much that I am willing to eat ramen and oatmeal for months to save the money for anomalies and other events.

Unfortunately it is #NoRuck for me, I'll be cheerign for those who will participate and work their asses off in different challenges. From +Ingress I would like to ask just one question: Is this really the way you want to lead this game to?
