This hunting season, please remember these 3 things:
1. Leave gates as you found them!
2. Obey NO HUNTING and NO TRESPASSING signs.
3. Last but not least, remember there is NO SHOOTING within 500 metres of occupied buildings (and livestock!).

You can’t see #worm eggs in feces! #Parasite eggs are microscopic, and animals can carry them in their bodies year-round.
Veterinary professionals can examine manure under a microscope to evaluate parasite burden.

Are your #pets up to date on vaccines and deworming? Diseases and parasites are a year-round problem. Consult your veterinarian for a health care plan for your pet(s).

Did you know that licking can actually inhibit #healing, or make the wound worse. Since cats and dogs routinely lick their anus and other objects that are laden with bacteria, licking can also deposit infectious bacteria on and into the #wounds, thus potentially causing a serious #infection. The ‘cone of shame’ is really a ‘cone of healing’!

DYK that veterinary professionals have a rate of #suicide higher than the dental and medical professions and 4x the rate of the general population?
#Compassion fatigue, burnout and #depression are very prominent among veterinary professionals.

If you have an #iguana, you must change the #water and clean its bowl regularly. Why? Because iguanas often eliminate in their water bowl while bathing! It’s a good idea to provide fresh water in a heavy bowl that is not easy to tip over.
