The Ricoh Arena has today launched a campaign to bring a major international motor sport event to the Midlands.

Voting has opened for people across the globe to choose the location for the 2014 Race Of Champions – and the Ricoh Arena is the only UK venue on the nine-strong list.

The Race Of Champions is the only event where the world’s best racing and rally drivers from Formula 1, the World Rally Championships, Le Mans, MotoGP, NASCAR, IndyCar, Touring Cars and the X Games compete against each in identical cars.

Wembley hosted the event in 2007 and 2008 and this year the shortlist includes the Maracana Stadium, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Stade de France, Paris, France; Doha, Qatar; Bushy Park Circuit, Barbados; Friends Arena, Stockholm, Sweden; Commerzbank Arena, Frankfurt, Germany; Mercedes-Benz Arena, Stuttgart, Germany, and the Circuit of The Americas, Austin, USA, as well as the Ricoh Arena.

A “Fan Vote” has now been launched to find out where people want to see the Race Of Champions take place in 2014 to decide the winning venue. To vote, please visit http://www.raceofchampions.com/voteforvenue

Earlier in the year I created the Multi Agency Incident Transfer (MAIT) website for British APCO, so that the Home Office and other partners could showcase the proposed MAIT standard to enable data sharing.

I have now added a discussion forum area to the website so that British APCO can encourage involvement and discussion about the development of the MAIT standard, and the associated operational requirements that will be needed to make it work.

The ‘core’ MAIT team is driving the work through a weekly conference call, and regular larger meetings (generally at British APCO events) will be held for others who have an interest in MAIT and want to be involved.
The forum is designed to enable the core team to hold discussion transparently, and for everyone else to be able to add comment in between the regular meetings!

Any comments made or questions asked will be picked up during the weekly call and answered if appropriate.

So get involved and help our agencies communicate better through MAIT.

One star is too much for the customer service of these people. I have waited over a week, with three phone calls to them, for an email to state what options and at what cost it would be to take a drone frame to an RTF machine -- ie they would be selling more stuff to me. Am still waiting - they have managed to take so long that I have missed out on another drone they had as it was a choice between a fully ready machine (not really expandable) and a part built one (expandable). Thanks guys... your customer service and want to sell products is really high (and in case you don't understand this - as you don't understand customer service - this is sarcasm!).
