Hello friends!

I'd like to ask for your opinion regarding multi-line text editing. This suggestion comes from one of our Russian-speaking customers +Dolina Zamkova so here is a translated abstract of our email conversation.

Current problem: When you write multi-line text, you must press 'Shift-Enter' first, then use 'Enter' to start a new line, then 'Ctrl-Enter' to submit the text. Wouldn't it be easier to have a setting that will allow using Enter to always write multi-line texts, and always submit on 'Ctrl-Enter', like you do it in text messengers?

So we could add a new account-wide setting, on the Settings page:

() Finish editing by pressing 'Ctrl-Enter'
(convenient for multi-line text)

What do you think? Do you write multi-line texts in Checkvist at all? Other thoughts of how we could make it better? :)

I prefer the current implementation to the suggested alternatives +Sasha Maximova. Activating multi-line mode by using shift+enter once is nice because then I can type as normal from that point on (e.g. simply pressing enter to create new lines).

I definitely would not want to have to use ctrl+enter to finish editing all tasks/notes regardless of whether they are multi-line or not as I would have to do that dozens of times per day.  Not fun.

There is a bit of additional mental load when switching to multi-line mode (e.g. that ctrl+enter is required to close the field), but perhaps some UI tweaks could be used to indicate that the field is currently in multi-line mode.

For example, the field could have a colored-glow border, and a little "multi-line" label could be displayed in the (top-right) corner.  This would be a visual cue to help users remember to save the text using ctrl+enter instead of simply enter.

Something is baking up :)

Actually, you can already try it live on https://beta.checkvist.com The shortcut, as you might have guessed is 'pc'. Works on a list (from the 'Options' menu, 'oo') or a single branch (select the top list item in the brach and press 'pc').

Right now we are polishing the details, colors, etc. So it's a good time to try how the feature works and tell us how to improve it ;)

Hello friends!

Finalising the new version of the mobile app that will feature the long awaited 'Delete' function, we thought it would be better to mirror the 'Delete' on mobile with 'Restore deleted' in the browser (http://checkvist.uservoice.com/forums/2121-general/suggestions/5312958-a-trash-bin-to-store-deleted-items-temporarily).

Now you can restore the list items deleted during the last 24 hours on https://beta.checkvist.com. Just press the 'rd' shortcut, and select which items you want to restore. Then either press the 'rd' shortcut again, or the 'Restore' button under the list.

As always, we'll be happy if you tried the new function and tell us how it works. And meanwhile we'll finish the delete on mobile :)

Thanks!

One more CSS snippet for those who use CSS customisation. Now you can add icons with tags, and hide the tags afterwards. Many thanks to +Edo Amin Elan for the idea. https://checkvist.com/p/42953 (at the bottom of the list)

Hello friends!

Those of you who missed GitHub flavoured Markdown support, and code highlighting can log into http://beta.checkvist.com and see how it works.

Another thing to try are changes in multi-line text editing. Now when you edit a multi-line text, Enter starts a new line, and Ctrl (or Meta) Enter submits the text. On one-line list items, Enter works as Submit.

As usual, we'll be glad to hear about the bugs and glitches. If anything looks or behaves ugly, we'll fix it. The main server update is planned for the end of the week (hopefully).

Thanks!

To avoid (open) at the end of each line, you can un-select checkbox "task status" in the export dialog.
Regarding two trailing spaces - we can add them during Markdown export - it will be a separate option in the export dialog.

Actually, for Markdown export, we thought to provide an option to export top-level list items as Markdown headers, up to specified depth. For instance, you can set that top level items will be exported with prefix # and second level items with prefix ##. The depth (0..6) can be specified in the export options.

The idea is that one can outline, say, an article or a blog post; add content/text paragraphs, and export the ready Markdown document.

Upcoming feature: bulleted lists

http://beta.checkvist.com (same credentials, same data) features a new upcoming list style option: bulleted lists. Helps to distinguish tasks that have no subtasks (especially the multi-line ones).
We're eager to hear what you think and fix glitches if you find them!

Hura!!

Well, it took us a while to port Botanicula for iPad (two years to be more specific) but it’s finally out. It’s almost the same as the original PC and Mac version, we just improved the design so it’s more convenient for touch control and also the graphics is in higher resolution so the game looks great on Retina displays. Get it on App Store for 5 bucks.

Hello friends and happy new year to you all!

Among many other issues we are going to address, there's a couple of things we'd like to improve on the Due view.

Precisely, we are going to
- make list items actionable (edit, tag, etc, etc)
- show the list item hierarchy better, and
- provide more Due time interval views.

Could you please help us with the last one?

Here's a quick idea illustration - customizable Due tabs. And the question is, what would be your own set of views? How would you prefer to slice your due tasks?

Thanks!
(A similar design would go into the mobile view. So you'll be seeing something like this on your mobile screen, too.)

+Sasha Maximova Related to the due view: A due filter for "yesterday" (or Friday, if it's Monday) is propably the thing I miss most when quickly checking leftovers. Also when working past midnight and the date changes. An overdue filter similar to "changed: 1h/1d/1w" would be handy in such a case.

Hello +Adam Werling Sorry for the late answer. The behaviour is not intended, of course. We would like (and we are going to!) support the keyboard in the mobile version, too. Here's a request - please, vote for it to get notified about the progress. https://checkvist.uservoice.com/forums/239385-checkvist-mobile/suggestions/5862668-keyboard-support
