We are very fortunate to have a small grassy exercise area to the south of our office. Many anxious dogs will use this area to relieve themselves before or after their visit. A couple of years ago we installed a waste clean up bin with bags. For the most part it has been well received by clients who have otherwise been caught unprepared for doggie doo-doo's. One client however was quite irate that now she was "forced" to clean up after her dog and not just leave the waste lying there like she used to. Oh well, can't please everybody! Thanks to all of you that use the collection system.

Correct disposal of unused veterinary medication is very important. Please do not flush them down the toilet or toss them in the garbage. Firstly, and most impotrtantly you should use up your medications as prescribed. There can be circumstances whereby medications are left over or unused. Do no lend or give medication to someone else for use on their pet. Unused medication and pet products (flea and tick medications, syringes, vials etc.) should be returned to your veterinarian or local pharmacy for proper, environmentally correct, disposal. #veterinarycare #pharmacy #petmedication #watershedcare #environmentallyfriendly

Going to the vet is an anxiety-inducing experience for most dogs and cats. Consider that they don’t understand why they are being taken to a strange place, with strangers touching them. They are just nervous and afraid.
We want to help alleviate those fears. Too many pets don't get the veterinary care they need because their owner's are worried about the visit. As an AAHA member we follow the principles listed in Fear Free Visits in the linked article.

Foundling kitten gets new lease on life thanks to a couple caring clients. A good reminder to spay and neuter your pets. Who knows how many of this kitten's litter mates didn't make it!
