The Eastern Massachusetts Abortion Fund is a volunteer-run organization that works to ensure that all people living in or traveling to eastern Massachusetts have access to abortion.
The EMA Fund provides people with financial counseling and with money for their abortions. They help them get onto MassHealth quickly or find doctors that will take their insurance. They negotiate with abortion providers for discounts, and they help callers pay for bus or train tickets, childcare, and translation services.
On April 30th, I’ll be supporting the EMA Fund by participating in their 5th Annual “Triathlon” (of eating pizza, doing karaoke, and playing board games). I’m fundraising for abortion access because I believe every person deserves the opportunity to shape their own life. I trust them to make the best decisions for themselves and their families and that they are the experts on their own lives. I believe that abortion access is a matter of social justice, economic fairness and human rights.
When you support the Eastern Massachusetts Abortion Fund Triathlon, you're not only helping someone access necessary medical care, you're giving them back the opportunity to pursue their hopes and dreams. You are ensuring that no one is forced to carry a pregnancy to term because they couldn't come up with bus fare to a distant clinic, or because they had the wrong insurance or were short $100.
My personal goal is to raise $650. Your support is crucial. Your donation of $10, $15, or $20 will help me support our community when they need it the most. Even a small donation can make a big impact for the people who call EMA.
