Today's the last day to enter to win a copy of Triumph of the Heart -- a powerful new book about FORGIVENESS!
Forgiveness is not about weakness, or letting people off the hook. It's about giving up resentment. It's a powerful practice for healthy, joyful living.

I just LOVED Inside Out

So I've gathered some resources for you and given you some conversation prompts so you can use the movie as a way to teach your kids to FEEL ALL THE FEELINGS.
Go see Inside Out. And then read this list of activities to do and conversations to have with your kids!

Every week, readers email me or post on Facebook to ask about how they can start practicing mindfulness.

“What do I DO? Do I just sit there??” they wonder.

“Is there a workout-style plan for how we can start?” someone asked.

We can’t really do mindfulness wrong, but if we don’t know where to take the first step, we never start our journey.

And that means we’re missing out on the chance to live our lives with greater calm, balance, and ease.

It means we’re still living our days stressed out, overwhelmed, and tired.

Mindfulness is not a cure-all. It won’t make the stressors go away.

What mindfulness does is give us a powerful set of techniques and practices that help us relate to what Jon Kabat-Zinn calls “the full catastrophe.”

We learn to recognize our emotions, observe them with curiosity, and then respond instead of react. We discover how to make space for stillness in the midst of our busy days. With mindfulness, we develop greater compassion for ourselves, and for others.

It’s* brilliant.*

And it’s what I’ll be teaching you to do in my new e-course, Brilliant Mindful YOU!

Check out the link below -- I'd love to have you in class!

It's the guided introduction to #mindfulness you’ve been asking for.

Some reflections on leaving the classroom....
I am leaving the classroom empowered, not embittered. I am leaving the classroom not because I think the system is so broken or dysfunctional that I have to escape, but because I know I can transform it.

#3. Be excellent to each other.

And other righteous and mindful mantras from the totally awesome 80's!
We could dismiss the "Me Decade" as one of vapid self-interest, or we could take off those pinchy jelly shoes and take a chill pill: let's close our eyes (to block out the obnoxious neon colors), and discover the most excellent mindfulness mantras from those righteous 80's movies. Like totally.
