Every week, readers email me or post on Facebook to ask about how they can start practicing mindfulness.
“What do I DO? Do I just sit there??” they wonder.
“Is there a workout-style plan for how we can start?” someone asked.
We can’t really do mindfulness wrong, but if we don’t know where to take the first step, we never start our journey.
And that means we’re missing out on the chance to live our lives with greater calm, balance, and ease.
It means we’re still living our days stressed out, overwhelmed, and tired.
Mindfulness is not a cure-all. It won’t make the stressors go away.
What mindfulness does is give us a powerful set of techniques and practices that help us relate to what Jon Kabat-Zinn calls “the full catastrophe.”
We learn to recognize our emotions, observe them with curiosity, and then respond instead of react
. We discover how to make space for stillness
in the midst of our busy days. With mindfulness, we develop greater compassion for ourselves, and for others.
And it’s what I’ll be teaching you to do in my new e-course, Brilliant Mindful YOU!
Check out the link below -- I'd love to have you in class!
It's the guided introduction to #mindfulness
you’ve been asking for.
