Ice Fractures, Rocky Mountain National Park

The high alpine lakes in Rocky Mountain National Park develop fascinating ice patterns in winter. Here, ice bubbles and fractures created some interesting patterns on Mills Lake (taken in 2011, so this is not representative of conditions for this year!).

Ice abstracts are some of my favorite images, although something I haven't taken the time to experiment with. A very 3D like image Sarah, love it!
