Hangout with Documentary Crew
....of "The Runner & The Therapist".  I'll be hosting this Hangout On Air with +Veterans United and +Give an Hour Nonprofit .  Email if you'd like to join us via webcam.  Watch it live below next Tuesday.
A new documentary seeks to put a face on the invisible wounds of war.
Give an Hour is a nonprofit group with a mission to develop national networks of volunteers capable of responding to acute and chronic conditions within communities.

We are hosting a Google+ Hangout to talk about Give an Hour’s “Indiegogo Campaign” to finance an important documentary. The documentary, written, directed and produced by Charlie Stuart, depicts the courage it takes to talk about the stigmas behind mental health.

The documentary features the stories of Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen and Marine Corps veteran Brendan O’Toole. The film reflects on O’Toole’s time in Afghanistan and the help he sought after returning home. Dr. Van Dahlen also shares about her own family’s history of mental illness.

"See-Commerce" and "Human Media" With Sarah Hill
Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now? Can you SEE me now?
This was the opening lines from Sarah’s TedX talk where she discussed Human Media.

+Sarah Hill  is an Emmy award-winning anchor, Digital Storyteller, HOA legend with over 2 and a half million G+ followers.

And Sarah is going to talk  to us about Human Media and See commerce.

What is Human media?
It is  how users interact face-to-face online no longer confined to avatars and text communication. Just like we are doing now. We can connect with tools like Google hangouts which has taken social media to a whole new level.

And as business owners we need to be aware of how to use this resource, and how to use it effectively.

We are also going to be talking about another term that Sarah has coined, and that term is “See-Commerce” the new layer of E-commerce.

Companies like Toyota, DVF, and Parade who understand how effective HOA are for connect with your customers. You can see your customers, they can see you, E-commerce is quickly headed to a whole new dimension.

And most exciting in the world of “See-commerce” is the recently announced beta launch of Shoppable Hangouts. Where you can actually see the products in a sidebar, buy the products online. It is like having your own QVC network.

Talk about revolutionary strides in marketing. If you have a small business you can’t miss this episode of On Track Tips.

Just wrapped a shoot in Moore, OK. +Veterans United did a story with an Air Force veteran who lost her home and belongings in a tornado. After our interview, we captured this moment of celebration on the front porch of the family's new home. Story to follow.

Hangouts Pulled from Google Glass
Incredibly disappointing. I understand the decision but why not label video Hangouts "experimental" so the bugs can get fixed? Please don't pull the plug on the #humanmedia platform altogether? Our veterans benefitted from the video call feature. Journalists and Doctors did too. #bringbackHOG     #bringbackhangouts
#GlassUpdates are back with KitKat for Glass, photo bundles & more

You’ve been asking us when the next round of updates were coming. Well, they’re coming later this week! We know it’s been a little while, but this is a big one and we think it’s well worth the wait. Here’s what you’ll find in the new release:

KitKat for Glass – Our most exciting update is subtle, but big. We’ve been working on a significant upgrade to a new version of the Glass software. It’s not a change you can see, but it brings improved battery life and makes Glass more reliable and easier to update in the future. And now that Glass runs Android KitKat, developers can write Glassware using the latest Android SDK goodness, along with new features from our GDK.

Photo bundles – This one has been a long-standing request from our Explorers: now when you scroll through your timeline, your photos, videos and vignettes from each day will be organized in bundles so that you can swipe less and see more.

Photo replies in Hangouts – Photo sharing has been really popular amongst our Explorers, so we’ve added new ways to send photos in Hangout messages. The next time someone asks “what’s up,” tap “Reply” and then take a photo to show them. (If you already took the perfect photo, you can still tap to “Send” it in a Hangout message.)

Sending feedback – We always want to hear feedback from you on ways we can make Glass better so we’re making it even easier. Tap on the device info card in Settings and tell us what’s on your mind. If you need help, you can still send us an email, call us, or post in the Explorers Community.

Voice command sorting – With new features and Glassware, your voice command menu has grown pretty long. When you tap or say “ok glass,” voice commands are now sorted by recency and frequency, making it easier to see the commands you use most often and faster to access them from the touch menu.

Video calls – We hold ourselves to high standards for the features that we build, and video calls aren’t living up to these standards. Explorers have told us so directly, and fewer than 10% of them use video calls. For this reason, we’ve made the hard decision to remove video calls from Glass until the experience is better. We don’t know when that will be, but in the meantime, keep an eye on MyGlass as more Glassware is built and released – we’re already seeing the developer community work on other video streaming services. We’ve always said that feedback from Explorers shapes Glass, and this is no exception.

…and more – This is a massive update and we couldn’t fit all the changes into this post, so watch the Glass Journal in the Explorers Community to see the rest.

Looking for
These guys are experienced in the window film process. Our furniture was faded and we weren't able to use our living room at certain hours of the day as the sun was so bright. I called Mark at Sound Performance and he came out asap to give us a quote on window film for our great room. Mark helped us select an appropriate shade that wasn't too dark. The crew's work was timely, no bubbles in the product and he followed up after the installation to make sure we were aware of the warranty. I would recommend Sound Performance to others.

Great service! Nate just installed a new unifi wifi system in our house and now we never lose our wifi signal. Nate was prompt, courteous, reasonably priced and is up on the latest technology. He even called around to some internet service providers to see which ones would be a better deal for us. I'd recommend him and his staff to anyone looking for computer repair or wifi setup. Thanks, Nate!
