Who can blame him? Poetry is way better 😂..

"The discussion on the merits of poetry over prose soon escalated into a lethal brawl"

One of those articles that gives you some perspective. I mean, my views just aren't that strong, I'd say.
The 53 year old former teacher was a guest at the older man's home in Russia, and was arguing that real literature is poetry. The host, a 67 year old man, argued that it was prose. The guest ended up killing the older man for his views during the argument with a knife before fleeing. He was later captured.

Also recently in Russia, a man was shot during an argument over the theories of Immanuel Kant.

Russia: serious arguments.

A Russian teacher allegedly killed a friend in a drunken argument over literary genres, investigators have said.

It's sad, but it's necessary. Not having these is like not having food banks. Like not having homeless shelters.. or safe abortion practices. If you took this away, there'd be much more suffering. Because this is a hard decision for any mother to make. Stop judging them. They are heroes for wanting to give their child a chance at life.

Baby Boxes Are Awesome and Surrendering Moms Are Heroes

I saw this story and thought, "Wait, those have been around for awhile, is this really news to anyone?" http://www.mothering.com/articles/baby-boxes-safer-way-surrender-child/

But apparently it is news to some people that in some places in the world, there are safe, monitored ways for an unwanted baby to be dropped off so it can be cared for.

And apparently some people are offended by this, in particular because some of the groups who run some of these things are anti-abortion groups.  But I'd frankly rather see anti-abortion groups doing more exactly like this to support mothers and babies where the mother has either chosen or been required to give birth, rather than have these groups out attacking women making a different choice earlier in the pregnancy.  Too many anti-abortion groups only give a crap about a fetus until it's born; these groups are showing that they legitimately care about the resulting baby, and I can respect them for that part of their work, at least.

Apparently other people are upset that this unfair to the babies who won't know about their birth parents.  Um...yeah, okay, but you know what's worse for a baby than not knowing about its birth parents?  Dying a multi-day slow painful death of cold and starvation.  Robin will probably never know anything about her birth father and will know very little about her birth mother.  Pretty sure she's glad her birth mother had her in a hospital and listened to her own mother about calling an adoption agency instead of just walking away.  And even if she had just walked away, that still would have been better than having the baby in some hidden way and leaving her to die somewhere.  Robin is alive and thriving (and throwing an unrelated tantrum) right now because her birth mom surrendered her safely.

Birth mothers who surrender babies to hospitals, baby boxes, or other safe means need to be supported and applauded, not derided, not harassed for interacting with anti-abortion groups, not interrogated.

Would it be better if everyone had access to proper birth control so unwanted pregnancies never happened?  HELL YES.  Is that the world we live in?  HELL NO.  Would it be a better world if every mother could feasibly care for her baby, including those who a wider society devalues (ie girl babies) or will require a tremendous amount of care (ie severely disabled babies)?  HELL YES.  Again, is that the realistic world we live in?  NOPE.  So stop blaming mothers who maturely, rationally realize they can't cope.

Those who decry the baby box need to get over themselves, stop concern trolling, and check their privilege.  Parenting is really, really fucking hard.  Parenting while poor is so much harder.  Parenting alone is so much harder.  Parenting in a social situation that will punish you for having had sex/pregnancy is so so so much harder.  Parenting a disabled child without support and a fully paid health care system is so so so much harder.  These moms who surrender babies are HEROES for doing it.

And until such time as we see fit to actually fix misogyny, health care, and poverty, STFU and put in more baby boxes.  Make this easier and safer.

That's called being a human being.

Here we have safe haven laws where an unwanted child can be left at a hospital, fire station, or police station and the parent or person that left them cannot be punished. Unfortunately, so often we see people not taking advantage of this and either killing their child or abandoning them somewhere else.

The locals do of course practice long before they are allowed to drink alcohol, but as a tourist you are screwed. Conclusion: When in Wales, don't do as the Welsh do. Don't drink...

You know what? Fuck this article. Love isn't dead, and saying it is doesn't make it true. You're a pessimistic, shallow, obviously recently heartbroken or damaged individual and you just want to justify why your own relationships have never worked. Well, misery obviously wants company. Here's the deal. I don't agree with anything you said. What you have tried to claim is that everyone in this world is afraid of commitment, unable to form a close relationship and unable to show their feelings, unable to be romantic. Maybe you have lost all hope, author. But fuck you. You can't take it away from the rest of us.
We don’t know how to love madly anymore. We wouldn’t take a flight to a far-off land just to see someone we love. We’d break up because, long distance. We’re too sensible for love. Too sensible for our own good.

+David Litster yes, divorce happens for several different reasons. Some people drop out of school early, but that doesn't mean no-one wants an education. Yes, there are people who are afraid to commit, and see love in a superficial way. But on the other hand, there are those that are truly happy in their relationship, and can see themselves with that person for life. People who don't rush into marriage just for the excitement of it all. That might be a majority of people, but it certainly doesn't speak for all of us.

I very much appreciate the unique and arty. Deep and revolutionary thinking also fuels me. But I am not all serious, and love a sense of humour as you may find out. :-)

I also have a recently found owl power.. I seem to have the ability to hypnotise people and make them all follow me.. we'll see.. :-P
