Join us (Alys Arden and Stormy Smith) to celebrate our latest book releases! THE CASQUETTE GIRLS and BOUND BY PROPHECY are launching in November and we want to PARTY!

We have an awesome day of book chat, giveaways and likely, utter hilarity, as we have TEN young adult authors joining us between 1:30 p.m. CST and 6 p.m. CST. They span paranormal, fantasy, horror and contemporary – so if you like YA, we have something for you!

Come for the whole thing (we suggest caffeine and chocolate), or drop in as you can. We can’t wait to meet you and answer your questions.

Full schedule and author list coming soon. Stay tuned. In the meantime, tell your friends!

So it seems J.K. Rowling uses a plotting spreadsheet that looks similar to mine...well that boosts my confidence!

Are you a plotter or a pantster?  :D  #writing   #reading   #books

So cool!
"We all know that being a writer is hard. Being a woman writer, with all that industry bias and those glass ceilings out there, is even harder. But nothing can quite describe the daring, sometimes terrifying, experience of being a woman writer in Afghanistan — except maybe the words that Afghan women writers produce themselves."

New anthology: "Washing the Dust From Our Hearts", from the Afghan Women's Writing Project.

Jess - thanks for all the info on new books you share with us.  I think this one looks fun - "Whatever you do, do not touch the orb" sounds like a great way to start up some intense action with a 12 yr. old.  :)  It seems like it could be a fun adventure.  Have a great day!

I so related to this article Liz! Especially the not feeling guilty part. But I have found although things aren't perfect, I am a much happier mama and more content to do all the little stuff when I'm pursuing my writing as well.

Sasha - Thanks for your review.  Dragons are People, Too sounds like a run read and I appreciated your thoughts.  Seems like there is lots to love - shape changing into dragons, secret spies, romance. Do you think this book would be appropriate for my teenage kids?  Ages 15 & 12?  Thanks.  :)
