I don't know where the old saying "elephants never forget" comes from but it resonated with me during my trip to Mashatu Main Camp in Botswana in July 2013. I saw the same group of elephants travel every morning to the watering hole behind where I ate breakfast at camp. Without fail, they never forgot to come and for several days, I quietly enjoyed their presence while I drank my coffee and gazed both upon them and their reflections in the water...

I live in Washington, D.C., where I am working as a full-time video producer at and completing a master's degree in new media photojournalism at the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at George Washington University. I received my bachelor’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in 2010 and have had several years of experience producing multimedia content for print, network and local television, the Internet, social media and mobile devices.
