Yesterday I attended the vernissage of Raumfalten, an origami exhibit in Schafhof, Freising. If you're in the area, it absolutely stunning! More info at http://raumfalten.de/

Call me Dr. Adams. :)

Before and after shot of my graduation ceremony. The black gown with blue/grey hood is my Master of Science outfit (before), the red/blue gown is my Doctor of Philosophy (actually Computer Science) outfit (after).

It took a while, but better late than never, right? :)

Fold something fun today. :)

Happy 4th of July! Let's fold an origami flexagon - perhaps in red, white and blue?

I love tessellations!
In this video I'm demonstrating how to fold the "Celtic Circle" pattern without precreasing the off-grid creases. Instead, these are added while collapsing the pattern. In my opinion this is a much more fun folding experience.
So, let's fold some tessellations!

Here's a tutorial for the origami tessellation "Celtic Circle" discovered by Robin Scholz. Enjoy!

(English version below) Eine Speisekarte sucht man hier vergebens. Preisliche Orientierung: 5 Gänge für 95 EUR, exklusive Getränke ---------------------- English version: Don't expect a written menu here. When you visit Schweiger^2, the head cook will come to your table, ask you how many courses you'd like, as well as any foods you don't enjoy*. He will then surprise you with an excellent set meal, just as suggested by the Michelin star the restaurant was awarded. The atmosphere is very sincere and laid-back, the service great: friendly, very forthcoming. Altogether a great restaurant for a special night out! *We've been here three times now. The last time I was pregnant and thus excluded quite a few food items and preparation techniques. Not a problem - as the restaurant specializes in doing custom menus on the fly. I had a delicious meal - which of course respected all the restrictions I had set. Price point: 5 courses for 95 EUR, excluding drinks

Arguably the best restaurant in Munich, which has also been rewarded two Michelin stars. We celebrated our 8th anniversary here. The food was exceptional, the accompanying wines were perfectly matched. The service was incredible - unobtrusive, always present. Getting a ride home (all inclusive of couse) rounded the night off nicely. A night here comes at its price - but the experience is worth it! While we won't be going here often, we definitely will be coming back for a next special occasion. Price point: in 2010 we (2 persons) spent about 600 EUR for an 8-course meal with accompanying wines.
