Unassuming Mexican restaurant with late-night hours & many options for vegetarians & vegans.- Google
"Great "hole in the wall" burrito and Mexican food place."
"Coupled with cheap drinks and free chips and salsa made for a great lunch."

Best Mexican north of CA. Habanero salsa is delicious. Love the vegan options as well. The chile Rieno Burrito with enchilada sauce smothered on top can't be beat. Great Caddy margarita too.

My girlfriend and I randomly stopped at this place wandering around Portland on vacation. The restaurant itself is extremely cozy with both folk art of Mexican saints and magickal symbols from the nineteenth century. There are both fantastic vegetarian/vegan and omnivore options. I can't say I've ever had cochinita before--shredded pork marinated in orange juice and achiote--but it was a unique, delicious flavor on a taco. The vegan tinga was so spicy and flavorful one could hardly tell it was vegan. Coupled with cheap drinks and free chips and salsa made for a great lunch.

I have given this place multiple chances to change my opinion and none of them have redeemed it. On three different occasions we have waited nearly 10 minutes to be seated, and on at least two of those have been when the host/server insisted they only needed to bus the table that has been sitting for five minutes. I've watched plenty of servers bus a table in under a minute, this was an insult to those people. This point is a bit petty but while most patrons around us were served chips, we were wholly neglected until our order arrived. And don't get me started on the food. Anytime I go for Mexican food I love to get a chimichanga. But this has been so bland it wasn't worth the price. And they cover the top with heaps of sour cream and two other hot sauces, I'm assuming mostly to hide the lack of flavor in whatever meat you've chosen. And probably the most annoying has to be the lack of professionalism from the small staff. Minimal paid courtesy, sticky tables despite having been "cleaned", water splashed on us without so much as an apology, and the check came to us wet and sticky. I truly wanted to like this place, but after multiple visits with similarly bad experiences I will NOT be returning.

Great food and they'll bring it to you at Bailey's if there you're having a beer and get hungry. Just go over and order and they'll give you a table marker.

By far the best Mexican food I had in Portland. They have a great menu, and the portions are large. I had their food twice and have been very happy with the flavor. I like the fact that you can phone in your order, and the wait is usually not bad. Also they are open late and the staff is helpful and friendly.

Good food and good atmosphere, although a little spendy for looks of the place but the food quality is worth it.

Average Mexican food, decently priced. The inside definitely gives off the Portland vibe. However the service was mediocre which was most likely due to only 1 chef and 1 waiter working during dinner rush. Would go back, but not out of my way.

Delicious and flavorful. I tried the chicken green (tomatillo) mole, which was amazing. I live in Tucson, and this is totally different. Tiny place, so just get take-out or stop in to have a late night bottled beer if Bailey's Tap Room next door is closed
