Seems like another dermatology office more concerned with cosmetics than medical problems. Ads everywhere and reps coming in and out of the office while you wait with their latest and greatest products. They scheduled me for more than 3 appointments and prescribed more than 9 medications. I don't feel as though any of the appointments yielded any useful information or that any of the medications except for one (anti-itch) did any good. I was diagnosed with a severe drug reaction after two biopsies and two blood tests. After looking at my insurance claims, this problem cost more than $2000, yet I still have no idea what the problem actually was a reaction to. I checked the claims afterward and the medications prescribed had astronomical prices that I was not aware of. Kenalog spray - $800, Alcortin a gelCream - $2300. This is what is wrong with the medical industry in America. If you are tired of paying higher deductibles and premiums for your insurance, you've got to fight against this. Surely, there was a cheaper alternative to take care of some itching. I guess it's all about deals and kickbacks. Each trip they said they called in prescriptions, but when I got to my pharmacy, they had never heard anything. They also called in a few of the prescriptions were by mail with some vendor they use, but never showed up. The nurse seems very confused as to what I had been prescribed and couldn't seem to call it in correctly.

Sanova Dermatology is great for surgical procedures, but for acne related problems they're just meh. I was prescribed accutane from my old dermatologist and took it for about 6 months and my acne went away, but sadly it came back 2 years later. I made an appointment here with Dr. Hanson and it was just "meh". All she did was tell me to stop using my Clarisonic, prescribed me some topical medicine I could have gotten from my regular doctor and then told me to buy one of the face washes they carry, which did not help what so ever!

Had my first dermatology appointment with Dr. Miriam Hanson today, and it was amazing. She listened carefully to my problems, quickly assessed and provided several different solutions. In the end, her professional advice helped me pick a route that I feel comfortable with and know will meet my needs. If you are looking for professional, efficient, and excellent dermatology, I would highly recommend going to Sanova. Plus, they have a beautiful office and excellent office staff and nurse practitioners!

I take vacation days off work and drive from the Dallas area to visit Sanova Dermatology for my skin care because I trust their expertise. They explained everything and recommended the best procedure for my skin. I am extremely happy with the results.

They're great! If you have concerning moles that need removed, I recommend them. With the emphasis on cosmetic enhancement, they know how to remove while causing minimal scarring, and it's painless after a bit of lidocaine. I highly recommend this team!

Late last year 2014 I searched on line for a local Dermatology office re: advice/treatment for NasoLabial folds. Came across 5 (based on ratings and reviews above 4 stars). Not sure why out of the 5 specialist office I chose Sanova but I believe I made a correct choice. Made consult at Sanova Dermatology with Dr. Hanson. What a nice, caring, professional doctor. At this consult I received good advice and proceeded with Juvederm fillers. Best thing ever. I have since continued to go there for all Derm issues. This past week I had my 1st facial at this office. Enjoyed it! Not to mention inexpensive too. The staff is awesome. From the phone scheduler to check out. Thank you Sanova Dermatology for all you do. You have an AMAZING Team!!

I was looking for a new dermatologist after having a not-so-stellar experience with another office in N. Austin. I was referred to Emily Johnston by a friend and made an appointment to have a mole removed from my face. I was very nervous since the mole is in such a prominent spot but Emily was very patient with me, explaining the process in detail and giving me different options while talking through the pros and cons of each. After speaking with her, I felt much more at ease and she proceeded to remove the mole. It's been right at a week now and I couldn't be more pleased with the results - very minimal scarring and I feel so much more confident now. Emily was great and I couldn't recommend her more. She takes her time with each patient and never made me feel rushed or dumb for asking a question. She has such a wonderful bedside manner and I felt completely at ease with her. If you need any kind of dermatological treatment, go see Emily! She really is the best!

After my primary dermatologist recommended Mohs surgery, I was left looking for the right surgeon for the job. Thankfully we found Dr Mamelak. He was able to complete the procedure all in one day, which was exactly what we were looking for. Many thanks to Dr Mamelak and the staff at Sanova Dermatology for their wonderful care.
