Wonderful ambiance - great food but the flavors were not as "bright" as I was expecting. The wine selection is wonderful - especially appreciated the New Zealand selection. And love their starters.

Simply put - worth the lunchtime visit for their special all-in-one menu. And, for my favorite, ask for the broccoli bowl (broccoli, garlic and tomato sauce). Wonderful serivce and love their pizzas. Better than the standard Pizza Express fare.

One thing about being in Shoreditch is the quality of coffee roasters in the area. ozone is a transplant from New Zealand bringing their own style of coffee to their Kiwi mates. The decor is gorgeous - even with the roasting setup down in the basement. And, if there was ever a reason for brunch, you should have the baked eggs with mince and Hallumi. Worth the time and wait.

One of my first exposures to London's cheese scene, Neal's Yard Dairy is an amazing experience beyond what you would see in NYC when you check out Murray's or Fairways Cheese shop. You are faced with such a wide array of chesse you have little knowledge of what to do. The staff is usually quite helpful and worth the time to chat with -- if the line is not too long.

In an neighbourhood full of kebab places offering their own take on shwarma and kebabs, how could one choose any of these joints above another? My metric is the number of taxi drivers outside of the restaurant. Every night, you can always find, at shift change, this particular restaurant insanely full with cabbies jawing and enjoying these guys food.

Mr. Applebee has been int he market for over 10 years and has gone from a simple local fishmonger to becoming one of the best providers of fish and the assortment surrounding it in the area. Worth the Saturday night booking for a wonderful meal.

Since my first Italian restaurant experience in London, Ciao Bella has been my favorite mainstay for good Italian and a great price. Felice is the one to know - ask him what is best on the Specials and he will make sure you are taken care of. I love the Boccachini di Pollo and the wine list is quite nice for the price and location. And get the Tartufo for dessert.
